So I was discussing earthquakes with a student of mine and it got me wondering...has anyone experienced an earthquake at DL? If so, do share the details.
I have it was last year in July, but I didnt feel anything. We were getting of the Monorail and we noticed alot of rides were closed so we asked a CM and they told us there was a minor earthquake. They didnt run WOC that night because they needed tod check everything out. - nappingbeauty

I was on the monorail when the last big one hit. I didn't know what was going on at the time but thought the monorail was more bumpy than normal. We stopped at the dtd station and waited while the CMs were telling us they were working on some technical issues. Eventually they told us they had close the ride, so we never got back into the park. Decided to just go home later to find out there was an earthquake. - Plucky

My family and I were there for the Landers earthquake back in '92. The first quake hit early in the morning and then a second quake hit about an hour or so later. Both quakes were about 7.2. Since it was on a Sunday, the park was open but very little people in the morning hours. The rides were open from what I remember. We were also there in the late 1980s when there was a quake in the Palm Springs area. - Diznimom

We were there during one not too long after world of color opened, it was pretty small and all the rides opened back up quickly afterwords. However world of color ended up damaged and the shows were cancelled. We had dining package reservations. We made it all the way through dinner and were asking for our fastpasses before they told us (even though the first show had already been cancelled while we were eating) we waited in a very long line at customer services of people complaining about the cancellation. In the end they gave us VIP tickets for another night, but there were a lot of angry people who left with nothing - Pixarprincess

Great stories guys, thanks for sharing! Good to hear everyone was safe. I always wondered if those who were on rides could actually feel an earthquake or even notice it.
@vinylSteve- I'll never forget that one... What a rush it was! I was just waiting for the ground to split open! - MrAndMrsDisney

Earthquakes are the best part of Cali, it's hilarious to see the tourist from the east coast freak out. But I'm mean because they laugh at me for dressing all super warm when winter hits 70° and they are In shorts. So I'm just being fair. To make this disney related, ABC 7 channel who owns a little of Disney always shows live shots of DL after a quake. Guests are just walking around looking at the sky - TeenMickey

Our family did...we were at the Paradise Pier Hotel a few years ago and we were in the concierge lounge at the hotel...we were having breakfast there and as we were finishing up, we felt a rolling motion and then figured out it was shaking....there was a potted palm tree in the lounge and it was swaying back and forth...luckily it was a minor quake...after it stopped, the family next to us looked at us and said YOU GUYS FELT THAT RIGHT?...we just started laughing and thankful there were no other quakrs later on that day ;-) - uscdisneyteacher

@teenmickey, that's the best part! I love it when ABC 7 shows the Disneyland shot. Everyone is walking slowly, looking around like the sky is about to fall - chandloski

My dad broke his foot, so we were sitting in the wheelchair line for space and my mom asks if we felt the earthquake. We just thought she was feeling the ride vibrate and that age was crazy, but 2 minutes later someone comes out and tells us that the ride will be closed for a bit due to the earthquake. it was when baja had like 100 earthquakes in a week and this one must have been big because every attraction was closed until maintenance could come and approve them for reopening. The streets were more crowded than after the fireworks on fourth of july. Everyone looked lost and were moving around pointlessly. Terrible experience! - Seacow
