ok mousewaiters, I have a question. what do you think the limit is for the size of blankets that reserve space for shows. last night at fantasmic a dude had a 8x8 tarp out saving space for his 8 person family. I had a seat already but said to the guy that is unfair but no one backed me up. the family should be sitting there to reserve such a large space. I understand needing to go to the bathroom and such. but letting a massive family go out and ride rides while we sit and wait seemed excessive.
i dont think there is an official rule but it seems like these people were not very courteous to people around them. sorry this happened - FaithTrustandPixieDust

I've played "tour guide" for friends and families who have never been, etc and many times I'll bring a blanket for fireworks or Fantasmic and for a few hours i people watch to enable others in my group to have the best experience
during their one day visit. The way I see it we all have the same opportunity to save spots. - PrincessDuckie

ya @duckiefan2 has a point. if a person is willing to sit and save a spot than i think it's ok - FaithTrustandPixieDust

I agree, not everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the park as many AP. For myself, I can pick a day where my goal is to see fantasmic and could stay there holding a spot. But I know others should enjoy the park. A tarp is a bit big. I usually let as many people near me so I think too much leg room is a bit unfair for those around them. I think a blanket is good but a tarp is pretty funny. - MarshaMouse

Why should the whole family wait? It's not the same as a large group joining in line for a ride. I love sitting on the ROA, watching people and resting my tired feet while the rest of my family, who have more energy, can continue to enjoy their time in the park AND then have a good seat for Fantasmic! And to be honest, I'd rather not have kids waiting an hour or more and getting bored and cranky. Just my opinion. - PrincessKristin

8 x 8 doesn't seem that big to me. I have no problem if 1 person saves for a family of 4, but for a larger group I think 2 people saving the space is better. But as long as DL is ok with it, then I guess it's not a problem. - Mimmy

Kids get restless! They really need to be up and about so when show time comes, they wanna sit and rest lol - MarshaMouse

I think the best way to avoid the frustration is to do the Fantasmic dessert like we have done in the past. Let's do that our next trip. Can't wait! - JediTinker

I agree with most others, if you are not fortunate to have ap every moment matters - Disneymomblessedx3

The way I see it, he was giving himself and the family some leg room... If he was there for a few hours, I don't mind.. what I do mind is the last minute people who push their kids and family up to the front when the people there already have been waiting for a while... - TikiJOSEsWingman

During the 50th I raved about the parks so much a group of friends decided to visit, some had not been since the 70's and 80's! I staked out a place for fireworks, 3 hours ahead of time. Guess what, the fireworks were cancelled! I would of felt horrible if they wasted all that time for nothing. Actually this happened twice to me during the 50th. My out of state friends were very disappointed. :-(. They have not been to the parks since then and never got to see Remember. :-( - PrincessDuckie

It is pain to me as well because this person has probally already seen this show so many times and it is a bit annoying that they do this but then I think to myself look at all the wounderfull things that he misses out on and when the show starts everyone stands anyway so what a waist of time - puddy77
