I figured that I should post in here, since Disneyland is responsible for me wanting to get in shape... When I first became a MW'er (late last year) I was weighing in at 295 - 297. My first 3 day trip to the park left me exhausted and in so much pain from my ankles and feet that even though I was enjoying myself, I was popping ibuprofen like they were candy! To top it off all the cool Disney shirts if you are lucky go up to 2XL, and just a few are 3XL! I realized that I needed to get in better shape, so I started walking more, and had ankle braces for my next trip out there. My legs were still beat up, but not as bad as the first trip. When I got my AP earlier this year, I made it a goal not to be so out of shape so I could walk the park and have a good time. I had still not lost any weight, but I was getting more in shape. Fast forward to a couple of months ago; it finally got in my head that I needed to change the way I was eating! So I started a high protein diet and drinking a lot of water with increased walking, including when I was at the DLR. I felt better, and just in the infant stages of my weight loss, (280 lbs) I was able to walk the parks without any ankle braces. Today I'm at 245 lbs and started a gym membership this week. The hardest thing I've experienced so far is how only to choose two "cheat" foods when I go to the DLR! I just wanted to share my story, and wish everyone on here good luck with their goals.

Yay! Good for you! I know that we all want to be thin to look or feel better about the way we look - but the best benefit is better health! I just lost 32 pounds and I'm totally off my blood pressure meds! And I do feel better too (no huffing and puffing when I walk my dog uphill)! Keep up the good work and keep posting here... it really helps! - msdizmaui

I just reread your post and wanted to comment on your statement about the 2 cheat foods. I'm leaving tomorrow for a week at DL and have been going nuts thinking about food - what I can eat, what I want to eat, what I shouldn't eat, etc. etc. I decided today that if I'm ever going to suceed long term and really think of this as my new way of eating (instead of a temporary "diet") than DL shouldn't be an exception (and it shouldn't just be about the food!). I'm going to stay on track, maybe have a bite of something but absolutely NO churros, ice cream, etc. I know I'll have a great time and will feel so much better after I get back home! - msdizmaui
