Hello everyone. I just wanted to tell the MW community what happened at DCA. My little boy was walking one step behind me when I heard him scream bloody murder. He had been ran over by a woman on a motorized cart. She had her daughter sitting on her lap. My little boys Ieg was stuck below her cart. She keep rolling. I literally had to pull her off. No sorry. No are you okay. Luckily he just bruised. OMG can you believe it

Omg, so sorry that happened to your lil boy :-( - PartOfYourWorld  74.5 #4051 9:25AM
Luckily her black eye will heal. Oh you didn't take that route? You're a better person than me. I'd have been infuriated. - FindMeAtTheCove  237.4 #1505 9:25AM
that is awful! but unfortunately I can believe it during the summer time when it is crowded and people are cranky - FaithTrustandPixieDust  12.8 #9480 9:25AM
Ouchie...I hope your son is ok! I'm so sorry that happened - MarshaMouse  5036.0 #26 9:25AM
:/ I'm glad I am not a mom. I would've prolly decked her. Hopefully he feels better :) - Dreamer  276.1 #1097 9:25AM
So sorry to hear what happened to your son. I'm glad he is alright. when my kids were really little I made sure they were right next to me especially when I saw those things moving close to us. - mommyland  289.4 #977 9:25AM
I really wanted to go ballistic!!!! But kept my composure so he would too! Loved the med staff there! They were wonderful!!! I get pretty angry but thankful that nothing worse didn't happen - Colesmommy  45.8 #4955 9:28AM
I'm so sorry that happened to Cole. Hopefully he'll be okay I sure it was pretty scary. Something needs to be said to Security the drive can not be running people over like that and nothing being done. - lindyanne  187.4 #2160 9:28AM
glad he is ok but sad to say many rude people visit the park. i got rammed in the back of my ankle with a baby stroller the other day! sorry this happened to you guys. - grapesoda  382.3 #587 9:28AM
For reasons like this and others my daughter is not to walk behind and only a step in front of me. Cause I get crazy when someone even pushes my child to the side. Im so sorry about your son, poor little guy. - pintsize  290.1 #972 9:29AM
You are a better momma than I am, I think I would of went off. Passengers are not allowed on those for a reason. Freaking idiot. I am sorry and I am glad your son is ok. - PrincessDuckie  905.1 #202 9:30AM
I am glad your little boy is ok...some people really have no compassion...cannot believe that person did not apologize or check on how your little boy was...you certainly showed great composure...glad your little one is doing alright ;-) - uscdisneyteacher  7914.8 #10 9:31AM
That's awful. I'm so sorry! Glad the injury wasn't worse. - Mrs.mouse  543.6 #377 9:32AM
That happened to my friend a few years ago! The woman didn't care she hurt somebody either. But it was right before fantasmic and a cm saw so she got preferred seating and a mickey plush. I'm sorry it happened to you :( some people have no manners. - Kellykitty  7.8 #13023 9:34AM
Glad to hear he is ok. Sad to say this isn't the first time I have heard of this happening. I have heard it happen a handful of times. One person broke her foot and was pretty badly hurt on the first day of a vacation. Same thing- no sorry or anything said and it was a child on the motorized chair with the adult. - mamamouse22  27.8 #6220 9:35AM
I mean accidents happen, but seriously, she didn't stop or apologize? What's this world coming too? Ugh. - PrincessDuckie  905.1 #202 9:35AM
Omg I am shocked I'm glad your little boy is ok but I think you should still get him checked out by a doctor. - maxinerenton  422.7 #524 9:38AM
how scary..I would have gone insane! I am glad he is okay. - Sallyskellington  201.1 #1982 9:39AM
I think my entire family has lost part of a foot by one of those at one time or another. Glad to hear it sounds like nothing was broken. Sorry he had to go through that, though...poor guy - 415beachgirl  475.6 #447 9:40AM
If this happenes to anyone else please get that persons information. Those who rent the scooter are personaly responsible for any damage they may cause. Injuries don't always show up right then and there. Other people should not be responsible for others recklessness. - Evilstitch  338.5 #709 9:40AM
That's terrible. Can't believe how rude, inconsiderate and uncaring some people can be. EVEN when I'm not at fault for some person jumping in front of MY stroller and getting bumped, I always ask if they're ok. Hope your son is ok and it doesn't ruin his day. - Polkadobo  384.7 #583 9:48AM
You handled this way better than I would of. If anything happens to my kids, I get very defensive. Glad your little guy is ok. - proudcanuck  478.6 #445 9:49AM
That is so horrible! I hope your little boy I doing alright. Did Disneyland do anything to accommodate you? - BriarRose110511  230.9 #1597 9:51AM
That's awful! I'm so glad your lil boy is ok!! It's unbelievable how many ppl use those who don't even need it, They Hav no medical condition!! I've seen a whole family using them & they drive around like they own the place. - ZMaleficent  235.5 #1530 9:53AM
Aww poor little guy :/ He definitely deserves a churro :) I hope the rest of your trip is extra magical. - WishingUponAStar  133.2 #2991 9:54AM
Aweful!!! Glad he's ok and not too traumatized. The nerve of some people! - supertracy  471.9 #453 9:55AM
Ugh this makes me so angry! I hate when people are so horrible. To not see if he was ok and to keep on going is just wrong. You were smart to keep calm for your sons sake. As a mom I try to look out for other peoples kids as much as possible and this person would've gotten an earful from me. - tballzz  558.2 #362 10:34AM
So glad he is okay. - Cheereza  44.6 #5003 10:37AM
I'm so sorry that happened to you. Boooo! :o( - MomWithAJuiceBoxBuzz  1190.7 #145 10:37AM
Ugh this made me so mad!!! But glad that your son is ok!! People these days grrrrrr!! - sassesarah4u  133.6 #2987 10:39AM
You might want to take your son to the doctor just to make sure there isn't any internal bleeding!!! :) hope he gets better very soon, God Bless =) - giovannathing1  5.2 #18147 10:40AM
I am glad you son is ok. I really don't like those things I have been almost been hit several times. Some people drive around so crazy with no care of what is around them. - Dopeygal  294.3 #946 10:44AM
Ah glad your son is ok and that it wasn't worse than some bruising..I'd keep an eye on it though just in case - TiggerBelle  515.6 #408 10:47AM
This is very upsetting to hear but unfortunately after seeing some of these people on those in action I believe it. I have overestimated heard people on those tell there family "follow me everyone will get out of my way or ill run them over"...really Wth?? I walk fast around dland and I dodge and move around a lot of adults and kids and strolls but these thing scare me I have literally had jump out of the way several times. - dadcanevari  38.0 #5327 10:52AM
Did the cm get that woman's info??!! Or was she just rude enough to ride off? - Elaine  411.4 #538 10:53AM
You know what drives me insane about most people who use scooters? It's that most of them don't have a medical condition, they're just fat lazy obese pieces of lard. I'm by no means fit, but I walk my chubby self around the park, why can't they do the same??? - GoofyHauntedMansion  24.6 #6598 10:55AM
Sadly, if there was no consequence for this woman, we could have a repeat case. So happy that your son came out of this as well as he did. Lil guy is a real trooper and you really handled yourself with class. I would have failed that one! - DisneyDawn  419.2 #531 11:02AM
@goofykidatheart that is not a nice thing to say. You dont know if they have a condition or not. Im only 28 and i get the looks and i have multiple conditions and need to use the scooter. Thankfully i have my own. But you shouldn't judge people by the way they look. - ImAlwaysCrazy  674.5 #297 11:08AM
EWWWWW!! how rude of her!! glad your lil guy is good, and hope he still thinks its the happiest place on earth. - Gemflower  100.9 #3581 11:09AM
Are there as many scooters at DL as at WDW? There are a TON at WDW!!! Last summer it was pitch black dark due to Electrical Parade. A lady came flying by on her scooter going as fast as she could. She ran right into my son's umbrella stroller, got her scooter tangled in it and couldn't get separated from it. She started SCREAMING at me to get the stroller off her cart! Her husband was in scooter behind her and kept ramming into her scooter with his scooter as hard as he could to get her to "speed it up." Luckily, my child was not in the stroller at that time and if he would have been I would have been banned from the parks for life! She would have really hurt his little 2 year old self!!! They then proceeded to drive the wrong way down a space they couldn't fit in...running into people in the process. A CM came up to them but they zoomed past her! I think everyone around was in a state of shock!! I think we all thought we were being Punk'ed! - Disney Jen  168.2 #2433 11:09AM
@ imalwayscrazy, that's why I put MOST not ALL people, take a closer look. - GoofyHauntedMansion  24.6 #6598 11:13AM
There is a rule at disney that you can not have a child on your lap when you rent a scooter its in the contract you sign. Its also a rule for people in their own personal scooters. CMs have to tell people all the time to take their kids off their laps. I have seen someone escorted out because he refused to. - ImAlwaysCrazy  674.5 #297 11:13AM
What?!? Crazy lady. Glad your little guy is ok. - Minnique  631.0 #321 11:14AM
@goofykidatheart this is not the place to say mean things. You may want to readthe faqs/rules again. - ImAlwaysCrazy  674.5 #297 11:14AM
@ imalwayscrazy, get over yourself and stop trying to play MW police.I'm done with this and you. Oh yeah have a great day. - GoofyHauntedMansion  24.6 #6598 11:18AM
@colesmommy. I am so sorry this happened to your son. Unfortunately some people are just rude. Specially during peak times at the park. I know i had had a scooter from Disney one time. They are hard to control and stop. A little boy ran in front of me one time and i tried to stop but hit him and he went down. I was so freaked out andthe mother came over. I was so apologetic. And i wanted to know he was ok. All the mom did was yank up her son and say "you dont run in front of people". Please know not everyone is a jerk in the scooters. But she was in the wrong. She should have never had a child on her lap. That is a huge no no. - ImAlwaysCrazy  674.5 #297 11:23AM
@goofykidatheart im sorry you dont like what i said. But this is not the place to be mean and admin would not like that you are going against the rules. Please be nicer. You could have put it in a nicer way..remember family atmosphere. - ImAlwaysCrazy  674.5 #297 11:28AM
Ugh some people are crazy with those carts I've seen a kid riding it while his grandparents were smoking....hope ur kids ok just keep on giving him advil and maybe take him to the doctors, good thing that kid wasn't mine cuz I would of yelled at her! - princessVanessa  384.3 #585 11:29AM
Sadly it doesn't suprise me since, like others, I have had to jump out of the way or move my kids quickly out of the way. I know this has been an issue for so many years and sadly seems to get worse and worse as the years go by. I know when I was there with my oldest and pregnant with our 2nd son that there was all this room down Main St and she was yelling for everyone to get out of her way. I just gave her a look and thought how she was lucky I wasn't in her way. I don't put up with anything when it comes to my kids. So that person that did this to your son is lucky it wasn't my kid right there. I would have made sure she was caught and something was done. Someone like that will keep doing it and who knows how many more she did it to that day or came close to it. As @Evilstitch said info should be taken from the person. If they won't give it, don't they have numbers on the scooters somewhere in view? Or even the name like the strollers have? Heck if you have another with you I would have had them follow that person until they could grab a CM and tell them what happened so they could get security to deal with them. I know your first concern is your son as it should be but people like that need to learn they can't just do that. Hopefully your son is ok from this. - TheRealEvilQueen  25.1 #6521 11:31AM
@goofykidatheart please rethink how you phrase things. Conditions for needing the use of a scooter are not always visible. Even if you believe what you said, it's nicer to not say it. - LilSterner  5503.0 #19 11:37AM
I'm so sorry this horrible thing happened to your son. You definitely did the right thing by checking on your son and keeping him and yourself composed. - Emlovessmallworld  71.1 #4137 11:45AM
I can't believe she didn't even apologize or see if your son was ok. Seeing she's a mother, you'd think she'd have concern for other kids too. But you know what they say about karma. - cesium55  531.8 #390 11:46AM
Your poor son. I hope he feels better and is okay. That was rude. If it was an accident she could of at least appologized. And appology is not that hard. I've been hit numberous times by strollers I understand it happened because of crowds but usually people that have bumped me appologize. I accidentally hit someone the last time I was there with my daughters stroller when they suddenly stopped in front of me. I kept apologizing and thankfully I was paying attention so it barley nudged the man. But I apologized more then once and made sure he was ok. He even laughed and said don't worry it happeneds and that was nothing like when his wife or others have hit him in the park. And thanked me for apologizing. When my daughter was real young some lady was trying to get across to the other side and she literally jumped over my stroller. Didn't say excuess me or sorry. She could of kicked my daughter while jumping but luckily didn't. I was so upset with her but I just let it roll off my shoulder but man it bugged me. - StephanieP1985  109.6 #3439 12:39PM
Cole is doing great! Very thankful for my little boy and that he's in one piece. But no joke---- got rammed by a cart in the ladies bathroom!!! Can I just say CHEEEEESE AND CRACKERSSSSSS(my favorite quote from princess and theξ”±). If you see a family of three running from motorized carts in DL or DCA---that's us!! - Colesmommy  45.8 #4955 8:17AM
I once got knocked over like a bowling pin! I was walking with a cane and next thing I know I was thrown off the curb and landed on the ground. Guilty party just took off. Not a word. Glad your son is ok! - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  751.8 #252 8:43AM
How awful!! It's amazing how disrespectful people are and then those people are raising kids to be just like them. What a shame!!!! Glad he's ok though - Queenof2princesses  259.6 #1262 8:47AM
Oh heck no!! I would've went bonkers - Btynbst  134.5 #2972 8:56AM
I don't think I've had one visit at DL yet where I am not run over by a stroller! Last time, it was twice - one asked if I was okay and apologized, the other kept right on going! - Gia  802.0 #231 8:56AM
