Glad to hear he is ok. Sad to say this isn't the first time I have heard of this happening. I have heard it happen a handful of times. One person broke her foot and was pretty badly hurt on the first day of a vacation. Same thing- no sorry or anything said and it was a child on the motorized chair with the adult. - mamamouse22

If this happenes to anyone else please get that persons information. Those who rent the scooter are personaly responsible for any damage they may cause. Injuries don't always show up right then and there. Other people should not be responsible for others recklessness. - Evilstitch

That's terrible. Can't believe how rude, inconsiderate and uncaring some people can be. EVEN when I'm not at fault for some person jumping in front of MY stroller and getting bumped, I always ask if they're ok. Hope your son is ok and it doesn't ruin his day. - Polkadobo

This is very upsetting to hear but unfortunately after seeing some of these people on those in action I believe it. I have overestimated heard people on those tell there family "follow me everyone will get out of my way or ill run them over"...really Wth?? I walk fast around dland and I dodge and move around a lot of adults and kids and strolls but these thing scare me I have literally had jump out of the way several times. - dadcanevari

Did the cm get that woman's info??!! Or was she just rude enough to ride off? - Elaine

You know what drives me insane about most people who use scooters? It's that most of them don't have a medical condition, they're just fat lazy obese pieces of lard. I'm by no means fit, but I walk my chubby self around the park, why can't they do the same???๎๎๎ - GoofyHauntedMansion

Sadly, if there was no consequence for this woman, we could have a repeat case. So happy that your son came out of this as well as he did. Lil guy is a real trooper and you really handled yourself with class. I would have failed that one! - DisneyDawn
415.6 #310 11:02AM
@goofykidatheart that is not a nice thing to say. You dont know if they have a condition or not. Im only 28 and i get the looks and i have multiple conditions and need to use the scooter. Thankfully i have my own. But you shouldn't judge people by the way they look. - ImAlwaysCrazy

Are there as many scooters at DL as at WDW? There are a TON at WDW!!! Last summer it was pitch black dark due to Electrical Parade. A lady came flying by on her scooter going as fast as she could. She ran right into my son's umbrella stroller, got her scooter tangled in it and couldn't get separated from it. She started SCREAMING at me to get the stroller off her cart! Her husband was in scooter behind her and kept ramming into her scooter with his scooter as hard as he could to get her to "speed it up." Luckily, my child was not in the stroller at that time and if he would have been I would have been banned from the parks for life! She would have really hurt his little 2 year old self!!! They then proceeded to drive the wrong way down a space they couldn't fit in...running into people in the process. A CM came up to them but they zoomed past her! I think everyone around was in a state of shock!! I think we all thought we were being Punk'ed! - Disney Jen

24.6 #4696 11:13AM
There is a rule at disney that you can not have a child on your lap when you rent a scooter its in the contract you sign. Its also a rule for people in their own personal scooters. CMs have to tell people all the time to take their kids off their laps. I have seen someone escorted out because he refused to. - ImAlwaysCrazy

What?!? Crazy lady. Glad your little guy is ok. - Minnique

@colesmommy. I am so sorry this happened to your son. Unfortunately some people are just rude. Specially during peak times at the park. I know i had had a scooter from Disney one time. They are hard to control and stop. A little boy ran in front of me one time and i tried to stop but hit him and he went down. I was so freaked out andthe mother came over. I was so apologetic. And i wanted to know he was ok. All the mom did was yank up her son and say "you dont run in front of people". Please know not everyone is a jerk in the scooters. But she was in the wrong. She should have never had a child on her lap. That is a huge no no. - ImAlwaysCrazy
646.4 #167 11:23AM
@goofykidatheart im sorry you dont like what i said. But this is not the place to be mean and admin would not like that you are going against the rules. Please be nicer. You could have put it in a nicer way..remember family atmosphere. - ImAlwaysCrazy

Sadly it doesn't suprise me since, like others, I have had to jump out of the way or move my kids quickly out of the way. I know this has been an issue for so many years and sadly seems to get worse and worse as the years go by. I know when I was there with my oldest and pregnant with our 2nd son that there was all this room down Main St and she was yelling for everyone to get out of her way. I just gave her a look and thought how she was lucky I wasn't in her way. I don't put up with anything when it comes to my kids. So that person that did this to your son is lucky it wasn't my kid right there. I would have made sure she was caught and something was done. Someone like that will keep doing it and who knows how many more she did it to that day or came close to it. As @Evilstitch said info should be taken from the person. If they won't give it, don't they have numbers on the scooters somewhere in view? Or even the name like the strollers have? Heck if you have another with you I would have had them follow that person until they could grab a CM and tell them what happened so they could get security to deal with them. I know your first concern is your son as it should be but people like that need to learn they can't just do that. Hopefully your son is ok from this. - TheRealEvilQueen
24.4 #4712 11:31AM
@goofykidatheart please rethink how you phrase things. Conditions for needing the use of a scooter are not always visible. Even if you believe what you said, it's nicer to not say it. - LilSterner

I'm so sorry this horrible thing happened to your son. You definitely did the right thing by checking on your son and keeping him and yourself composed. - Emlovessmallworld

I can't believe she didn't even apologize or see if your son was ok. Seeing she's a mother, you'd think she'd have concern for other kids too. But you know what they say about karma. - cesium55
529.7 #217 11:46AM
Your poor son. I hope he feels better and is okay. That was rude. If it was an accident she could of at least appologized. And appology is not that hard. I've been hit numberous times by strollers I understand it happened because of crowds but usually people that have bumped me appologize. I accidentally hit someone the last time I was there with my daughters stroller when they suddenly stopped in front of me. I kept apologizing and thankfully I was paying attention so it barley nudged the man. But I apologized more then once and made sure he was ok. He even laughed and said don't worry it happeneds and that was nothing like when his wife or others have hit him in the park. And thanked me for apologizing. When my daughter was real young some lady was trying to get across to the other side and she literally jumped over my stroller. Didn't say excuess me or sorry. She could of kicked my daughter while jumping but luckily didn't. I was so upset with her but I just let it roll off my shoulder but man it bugged me. - StephanieP1985

Cole is doing great! Very thankful for my little boy and that he's in one piece. But no joke---- got rammed by a cart in the ladies bathroom!!! Can I just say CHEEEEESE AND CRACKERSSSSSS(my favorite quote from princess and the๎ฑ). If you see a family of three running from motorized carts in DL or DCA---that's us!! - Colesmommy
