Wondering if a CM could help me..My husband was at Hungry bear restaurant tonight around 5 ish next to the bathrooms..there he witnessed a horrible thing. He witnessed a father abusing his child, physically in the corner of the bathroom entrance..the father saw my husbands shock and grabbed his son away from the area. My question is if there are cameras that are positioned there that security may be able to look at and turn this man in? We are home now, away from the park, but it is weighing heavily on our hearts...I do have to say this though, that man is definitely lucky I wasn't there to witness it. Security would've had to escort me out!!

The man literally ran away when he saw my husband saw..my husband was so flabbergasted he didn't know what to do and now it is weighing so hard on us I now realize I should've gotten security but we were worried man and child were long gone and wouldn't be found.. Stupid stupid us :-( - CaliDawn

I'm not a CM and with the thousands of people there, it would probably be tough to pin point who he is. When you say abusing, was he beating him? It's legal for a parent to spank a child with an open hand. Excessive or with closed fists is considered abuse here.. In other countries, there's more tolerance (not sure where they're from). If it was sexual abuse or beating him down hard, different culture or not, I'd have taken off my lady gloves and got down to business. - FindMeAtTheCove

If I EVER see something like that, be it a parent to a child or a spousal issue, I alwas find security and have them keep an eye. I let them know what I witnessed. I know as CMs we dont have enough eyes to monitor everyone, so having that assurance that there are guests in the park who are concerned for other guests' and children's welfare is great! - IDVandalSkipperCM

Don't feel bad or guilty that you didn't go to security, it must've been so suprising to see it you guys were shocked. Don't feel guilty at all, I'd call city hall an report the incident and the location and time it happened. - CxD_CM

He had the child cornered, cowering and crying and slapped him across the face so hard it made a HUGE sound. A spank is one thing, but this was abuse - CaliDawn

But if they would investigate with watching over the security cameras they probably wouldn't be able to know who the father was right

CaliDawn, don't feel bad. Back in March we were eating at the Carnation Cafe. I had to use the restroom and right outside the entrance a mom was slapping her 9/10 year old boy a few times. I was so shocked, I couldn't react fast enough. When I finally got it together they had left. I thought about that little boy for a long time. :-(. I hope there is never a next time, but if so I hope I can stop it and report it. - PrincessDuckie

Ugh I'm sorry you had to witness that. Definitely file something and let them know. There isn't much you can do beside that.. In the meanwhile, I hope the boy is safe. Parents just don't understand how badly they can mess up their child!! Ugh!!!!!! - FindMeAtTheCove

Oh no this really saddens me. It is supposed to be the happiest place on earth and this child is being abused. I just hope that this child has a better memory of DL. God help this lil fella. That is so sad. That poor kid now will have negitive memories of Disneyland among other places because of that horible man. Such a dad moment to think about. That bad man will get what's coming to him someday. The karma train will get this one. - Pinup Princess

A few years ago while in line for Roger Rabbit, the Mom standing next to us slapped her baby across the face so hard it left a hand print. I confronted her and she said the baby had pulled her hair. I immediately went and got security and they escorted the family away. What bothered me was if this mom does this in public what does she do at home. I always confront the parent and then report it. - tikigrammy
