Today stinks, manager has to talk to me in 4 hours and I don't think it's gonna go well. Plus she's mad that I ha to leave work an get stitches on Friday. As I was in my way to the clinic she told me I should not have left. I cut t on a dog food can lid. The vet at the hospital said I needed to go it. I am just missing my Disney cheer ups (did get te fox and the hound plushes and a few vinyls his weekend so I guess it will do). Keeping fingers crossed I get this new job that I have a working interview for tomorrow. But all u mwers going to the parks today, have some fun for me please.
Oh and finger is still sore, have to go in tonight to get a recheck.
hope it goes well! - cenicienta

Take a minute to think before u answer questions. What's the policy if you are injured on the job? Good luck. - Dizkid

Take deep breaths and stay calm. I am assuming the Vet owns the clinic and he would outrank a manager. You were hurt on the job and should be covered by workers comp. You got stitches they wouldn't stitch if you didn't need them. Don't let the manager talk down to you, but stay calm. - sewgirl

She just said I should of stayed for the three hour and bleed hen go to the clinic. There is a 6 hour time frame on cuts like the one I had. I'll see what she says. I got stitches, def needed medical attention but I guess protocol at work is to bleed atleast three hours. Oh well, it's a busy day so I am keeping my mind off it till she talks to me - TinkTinkTink

She probably needed to fill out paperwork before you left. Don't stress out about it. The proof is in the fact you needed and got medical attention. Sometimes the red tape involved when it comes to injuries at work gets in the way of actually getting the medical care you need!! - Gia

That is ridiculous!! You obviously needed medical attention considering you got stitches. If you would have waited you are risking infection. Your manager is honestly an idiot for expecting you to stay and work with a cut so deep it required stitches. ANY normal compassionate person, especially a manager would be rushing you out the door to get checked out!! Don't let her bring you down, she's in the wrong, not you. - Nicole

Wow... If you require medical attention, then you get it ASAP! None of this wait three hours nonsense. Human rights issue! - proudcanuck

Not only that can you imagine dog food in your cut for 3 more hours. So if my dog or cat gets cut deep I should wait 3 hours to take them to a vet? Or is it only people that need to wait? - sewgirl

Um my thoughts is to keep your chin up and stay positive...I personally dont want someone I work with bleeding all over the place especially when you are working with peoples pets and the food they eat...not very sanitary-I mean I work with food and if I cut myself would people want me serving them their food with a bloody hand? - yellowtonka

How useful did she think you'd be while holding a towel or whatever to keep the bleeding to a minimum for 3 hours anyway? When I burned my leg with 200 degree water, I called for backup, and my supervisor was running from the back while I was the clueless one thinking it wasn't a big deal. She told me to go home. I think it will be alright, if not they could be in big trouble. Its a work related injury and they can't just have you sitting around bleeding - cesium55

Just thinking if they are going to turn it around and say you werent 'correctly' using the can opener. A teacher and her student fell over a cart that was left in the hallway. The student hit his head on the door frame and the teacher was bruised badly. Get this, district wanted her to take
an online safety course.Ridiculous. Cart was left in the wrong place. - Dizkid

She didnt say anything about Friday. I am surprised but I am guessing she talked to the vet and tech I went to and showed, and the vet was the one who said I needed to go it. I wasn't going to be useful if I was bleeding for 3 hours. I am being as useful as I can with no bend the finger and keeping it dry (when I have to wash dog bowls). Talking to the manager wasn't too bad, but still hopping for this new vet hospital. Prob not as bad hours. Good not, I am sure I am getting into over time. Oh another thing, she told me she could not give me my schedule which starts Friday. Really?! I won't know if I'm working Friday till Thursday night. This is so stupid. And going by last weeks schedule isn't an option cuz thy are no where close to the same. Okay done venting while in the waiting room for recheck of my finger, ready to be home with my Disney plushes - TinkTinkTink

I'm a vet tech and I have never heard of a three hour rule for something like that. At my clinic if there is an issue like that you leave and get it taken care of! You need to find a new place to work. Sounds like the manager has major issues! Hope the finger is better! I've cut myself plenty of times on things like that. No fun! - kristeee22

@kristeee it's not a rule to wait but that's what she wanted me to do, she didn't see it because she was already gone for the day. So far everything good, soreness is starting going away. And I am hopig to get this new job, but now I am a little annoyed that I only know what I am work till Thursday and new schuedel isn't out yet so duno what I am working friday - TinkTinkTink
