I know this isn't Disney related but does anyone have a dog trainer friend I can email? I'm so frustrated with my yorkie. She is so rude. I took her to my boyfriends moms house to meet her little dog and I was so embarrassed at how rude my dog was. Does anyone know someone I can email for tips on how to introduce the two dogs? I want them to be friends. Please help! Thanks!!
1. To keep this Disney I'd say ask Mickey about Pluto.
2. For real I'd ask is your York a puppy? They tend to be easier to train.
3. Did you let the dogs smell each others bum?
4. I think PetCo and PetsMart have training.
5. Personal experience has taught me to socialize my dogs with other people and dogs. Say a dog park or visit friends or family who are dog friendly.
Best of luck! And PS you can teach an old dog new tricks. - TulareMama

Your breeder or local pet store should be able to recommend a trainer. What you probably need is obedience classes--the dog isn't rude; it just needs your training and guidance. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

Thank! No she isn't a puppy. Shes almost four. We tried putting my yorkie in a crate and letting the other dog sniff and vise versa. Then we let them both out to sniff and she chased the other dog all around the house. We are thinking about next time putting them on leashes and taking them for a walk to the park down the street. Good advice. Thanks! - AsDreamersDo

Or try your local humane society. She needs to learn socialization skills. And don't try to 'make them like each other'. She was probably nervous because she was intruding on someone else's turf and reacted out of fear rather than agression. Try taking both of them on walks together - neutral territory and they can learn that fun things happen when they are together. - Gia

I'll assume She was not "socialized" with other dogs at a young age. Perhaps even pampered and spoiled? I'm guilty of that. - Butterlina

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood! I would still go to your breeder (ours keeps in touch with us, but maybe most don't?) or your pet store. Classes will still help because other dogs will be around and the trainer will coach everyone on how to socialize their dogs. - Spoonful_O_Sugar
