Does anyone know if you have to be a DVC member in order to stay at the new Aulani resort in Hawaii?

I just got an email from Disney saying that you can experience the resort in two ways: as a guest and as a DVC member. Currently, they are offering AP holders special rates. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.0 #285 9:27PM

It has some rooms designated for DVC members, but it's just a regular hotel! Sort of like the Grand and a lot of the hotels at WDW. - msdizmaui 518.9 #223 9:28PM
