Last night I did something that I love doing, went to Disneyland with family and a friend who had not been to Disneyland in 20 years. He has been thru a lot these last 20 year in his life and so it was our mission to reintroduce him to the magic! The crowds were light and the weather was beautiful.. Starting in DCA, with only a 13 minute wait time, TOT was the first ride of the night (he loved it!), then experienced TLM for the first time together (very cute!), Soared over California (which after taking a poll, was the groups favorite), walked the boardwalk ending up having a late dinner on Paradise Pier. While having dinner, a very nice lady and her kids came up to us and said her family was “spent” and gave us 6 WOC Fast Passes in the RED section. We had enough time to finish dinner and get to our spot. I never get tired of WOC and our friend was in awe! Filing out of the park, moving at a steady “slow” I recognized a few familiar MW faces and buttons in the crowds. Could not stop to say HI, but I saw ya, and it made me smile! We exited the beautiful new DCA entrance, lite up, in all its glory, stopping at a sea of people sitting anywhere they could find a spot in the quad area between the parks, “Looking UP”, so calm and completely memorized just as the Disneyland fireworks were coming to the finale. We spent the rest of the night in Disneyland taking in more familiar things that our friend just had to do before leaving….. POTC, HM (rode this with my 8 month old grandson, who approved by saying “Bah, Bah, Bah thru the whole ride..lol), did a little shopping and ended the night catching the beginning of “Fantasmic” as we waited for the Train for the last ride around the park to Main Street to where we called it a night. We didn’t get to do everything we set out to do, but all in all, it was a wonderful experience! I love this place and the magic it brings. Our friend said the sweetest thing to me as we walked to the trams, with a heavy sigh, he looked at me and said, “Thank you, thank you so much for this night… I think I have my “Happy” back!”. It made me tear up and all I could do was give him a hug and say, “Then my work here is done my friend.” It was an “extra special” visit this time… I feel so very fortunate to be able to share it with family, friends and all you amazing MWers who know exactly what I’m talking about! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DISNEYLAND… THANK YOU for all the memories and here’s to Many, Many more MAGICAL memories in years to come! :)
