Ok how many of you remember when you had to buy a ticket book to ride the rides at Disneyland? My wife can't remember and she thinks I am crazy. Help me please :)

Of course there were ticket books. Originally, there were on A-D tickets with the best rides being the higher letter. In 1959, E tickets were added with the Matterhorn, Monorail, and Submarine ride were added. There were either 10, 12, or 15 tickets in a book. Magic Kingdom club members could purchase 12 ticket books. You didn't have to purchase a ticket book to get into DL. If you had a lot of tickets from previous visits, a general admission ticket could be bought. Did this alot. Hope this helps a little - sr citizen space ranger

I don't remember it myself, but I know they did have ticket books. The rides were categorized A-E, with E-Tickets being the best ones. :) If you Google it, you'll find lots of info! - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I remember these. All the e-tickets would be gone and only the tickets for the Main St. attractions would be left. My parents have an envelope full of old tickets. - WhatHappensInDisneyland

When did they stop with the tickets? I don't remember them at all but my husband does and he is only two years older than I am. - kbeenss

I remember the ticket books, but there used to be ticket booths in the park where you could buy tickets for the rides. My Mom would pay admission and then buy tickets at the booths since we didn't get on all the attractions. I don't remember the ticket prices. We always bought tickets at a booth right by the Storyland canal boats. - Diznimom

@diznimom, I think they originally started as 10 cents for an A ticket and went up. I think that e tickets started at around 75 cents but I could be incorrect. What I do remember is saving my C tickets to use on the shooting gallery in Frontierland after I used the B ticket. They never cared if you used a higher ticket on a ride. - sr citizen space ranger

@JenAnne, are they the 10 or 15 ticket books? I remember that my friend's dad who drove the monorail had books with tickets that could be used on any ride. - sr citizen space ranger

I remember the ticket books. I always went with grandparents and they did not like thrill rides. I remember parking the motor home out in front where DCA is at. - vegasbrat
