I have a dilemma that I need your guys' input on, since you all have such great advice! I am dog sitting a St. Bernard for my friend's mom for the next couple of days. I went over there today to meet him and get the routine down. He ended up biting me on the backside a couple of times, I didn't say anything because I didn't want her to feel bad about it. But she insists that he's really friendly. I have NEVER been scared of dogs before, but this made me so nervous because he's HUGE!!! And I don't know if he was maybe playing, since I couldn't see his eyes since he was behind me. Any advice on what I should do when I go over there in a few hours? Help! TIA.

Tell her what happened, then if you think it would help make you more comfortable ask her if it would be ok if you brought someone with you when you are watching him? That way you wouldn't be alone with him. I'm betting he probably was just playing. If you are really uncomfortable let her know ASAP so she can make other arrangements - Pixarprincess

Don't be afraid. Dogs are smart, he'll pick up on it and use it his advantage. Go in there in charge. You'll be fine. I volunteer at my local SPCA, no dog gets the better of me. If you can't do it, then you need to say something. Don't be a hero. I've worked with St. Bernards, there are sweet giants. Hope it works out for you! - DisneyFanZoe
