so what do plaids do exactly? I understand they accompany the rich and the celebrities, but what do they do when there are none in the parks?
Plaids are tour guides and also work at City Hall. It has been quite some time since I looked but for 8 people a plaid tour was $50 each at one point. I keep meaning to do one with friends. - SorcererMky

' plaids' are Guest Relations cast members. They answer phones, work city hall, information desk, lost and found, as well as tours :) - PieRatAL

They are in City Hall at the main desk but I'm sure they're doing other things besides that...I'm sure Dave knows! - SergZak

Does anyone else think it's a lil crazy though that the celebs get special treatment?? - CaliDawn

@calidawn, there is just no way around it. Crowds make celebs without escorts and back door privileges impossible. - PieRatAL

Anyone can "rent" (for lack of a better word) a plaid. At a price of course. It'll cost you 300$/hr for a 6 hr minimum if you want to get to the front of the line for fast pass attractions. No tour involved. They will take care of all your reservations for you too - CaliCanuck

plaids are the people who work for guest relations. they work city hall, lobby, lost & found, the wait times/information locations, the guest relations window, etc. they do guided tours (walk in walt's, discover, welcome, etc.), as well as VIP tours. VIP tours can be purchased by anyone, not just celebrities, but celebrities seem to get more - probably for safety reasons & their protection. - prettyinpink

WOW! Is my face ever red! I always thought they were Disney secret police. You know, license to kill and all that... - alankeno
