Okay, here's the million dollar question... Is it pronounced Pirates of the "Caribbean" OR Pirates of the "Caribbean". I think it just sounds so weird when people pronounce it "Caribbean".... I mean, seriously, "Caribbean"? Who says it like that? It's obviously pronounced "Caribbean"!

Because languages evolve both are considered "correct". However, the name originated from the native Carib (pronounced CaREEB) people, many locals use the "Car-ee-be-un" pronunciation, which is probably the most authentic. But I say Caribbean! :) - MoonWillow
