We can really use some Disney magic tonight. My daughters dog suffers from an immune disorder he survived it last year, but there is no cure. He is showing signs of a relapse and my daughter may have to say goodbye to her very young dog tomorrow he is only 2. If anyone has any pixie dust please sprinkle it our way.
Does he have AIHA? My corgi has it. He's been in remission since 2008. But now he's battling cancer. Thankfully he's in remission for that too! Sending lots and lots of pixie dust your way! - Gia

He has immune mediated hemolytic anemia. It is his second major fight. Last year he spent two months in the hospital. currently his face eyes and legs are swollen. He sees his vet in the morning and the final decisions will be made. My daughter can not watch him suffer again, and I will support her choice. Just breaks my heart seeing them both hurting. My daughter is 18 years old. - Itsallabouteeyore

I am so sorry. The 2 diseases are very similar. We almost lost Wes at his initial outbreak. 4 data in the hospital and a year of meds and he was in remission! Then last August he was diagnosed with lymphoma. He's doing well, for a 10 yr old, but I dread the day when he wont be able to fight it any longer. I hope your daughter's dog is able to hit remission again. You will all be in my thoughts. Please keep me posted! - Gia

No answers yet. Our vet thinks we may have caught it early this time! Have to wait on the blood tests to be certain! gave him a steroid shot and should have answers in the morning, as long as there is not a drastic drop in red blood cells we should be able to get him through it. Thank you. - Itsallabouteeyore

So sorry to hear this. We just put our young dog down. It was a terribly hard decision, but ultimately it was the most humane way to handle the situation. We believe that animals shouldn't have to suffer the way he was suffering. I really sympathize--you will be in my thoughts. ~~Blessings~~ - Spoonful_O_Sugar

Thank you all very much. They are both home resting now. The bloodwork will tell us what we have to do next. I agree I do not want him to suffer the first episode left him in the hospital for two months. Can't do that to him again. - Itsallabouteeyore
