Ok mouse wait army have a question for you so we will DL and DCA next friday through the following Thursday and we were wondering if we should bring our 2 yr old or leave her at grandmas we also have a 5 yr old and Were really going for her she is so excitied to see Mickey any thoughts or ideas??
I don't have kids so my advice may not be good. I could see how having a 2 yr old there would be really difficult but I couldn't imagine not taking him/her. I guess this isn't really advice. Haha. - Markandmylady

It will be way easier and I think more fun if you just take you 5 year old. But that's just me. - dug_one

You could split up and get one on one time with each - CantWait

Is grandma nearby? Can you bring her for some of the time.. I have 4kids10,7,3 and 1.. Ive come without them and with just a couple of them. Its a whole different experience with toddlers they enjoy some rides, but theyre scared of a lot too.. Youll spend a lot of time dealing with stroller parking, diaper changing, and crankiness from no nap... That said youll have great memories with your 2year old and pictures for them to treasure down the road.. - Calypso

We live in WA. Grandma too. We are flying down Friday. So we would be away from our 2 yr old for a week - Madysmommy

Tough decision! Go with your gut feeling.. Dont leave the baby if youre going to worry or regret that he/she isnt there.. Go into the vacation with the attutude of knowing its ALL about the kids and youll have a great time.. Ive learned that all of the crazy stressful stuff that seems so bad at the time, makes great memories and stories later on!! - Calypso

Has 5yo been on many rides? If not, they prob won't be ready to do the bigger ones that 2yo can't do, so might as well take them both cuz you won't be limited by height. There is a lot a 2yo can do and would also have a blast. - Jessica

I really just wish grandma would come with us. Problem solved, in my head. But she has a dog and no one to care for it if she goes - Madysmommy

.. They have kennels... - Calypso

Both our kids are pretty tall there's only a few that our 5 yr old can go on that our 2 yr old can't - Madysmommy

Take them both. Especially before you hve to start paying for your 2 yr old when she turns 3. The baby room is pretty quiet for naps while u switch off so the 5 yr old can get on bigger rides. - DznyHeart

What is the baby room? - Madysmommy

The baby care center is next to First Aid, near the Plaza Inn. They have changing tables, quiet places to breastfeed/pump, high chairs, toddler-sized toilets, etc. They can also warm bottles or food for you, and have supplies (diapers, formula, etc.) for sale. - Gruyère

DCA also has a baby care center. Its behind the Mission Tortilla factory.. Check out the map when you get there. - Calypso

I say bring both, I go with my daughter and 2 yr old granddaughter all the time and we take a friends 5 yo dtr too and they have a blast it's a different expierence for both but manageble. We also have 2 small dogs that we bring there are several dog friendly hotels close by and we use the kennels at Disneyland which are nice because we live out of state too just not as far as you cause we are in Nevada - Brenda

I'm not really worried about the nap issue since our 5 year old still takes naps. Our 2 year old hates strollers she just wants to walk, which is fine but she thinks it's a game and she hates holding hands. - Madysmommy

2yr olds are usually scared of a lot but there are two of you and you can take turns on the rides the 2 yr old can't go on.. You can also baby swap where you both wait in line then tell them you need to baby swap so one of you goes on first and then when thier car/ boat is back the other person gets to hope on so you don't have to miss stuff or wait in line twice - Sassie_Cass

just be careful about 2yo wandering, it's going to be very crowded! - Jessica

We have a backpack harness so she wouldn't go far. I think DL needs a daycare center lol. That would solve all my problems - Madysmommy

the 2yr. will not remember this and I could be a good time to make a Special memory for her. Less stress on the both parents. My view I alway wanted to have special memories with my kids. - Loridrives

@ Lori are you saying take her or don't? - Madysmommy

To be blunt don't take the two year old she won't remember the five year old will remember her special day for ever - PieEyedMickey

I'd say take both littleones. We took our girls when they were 5 and 2. They loved it. Was much better the year after for the youngest, she was more excited about it, but like Dznyheart said take the littleone before you have to start paying cause she's free right now!!! But whatever you decide, have a magical time!!!!! :0) - Brie

I have a 2 yr. old and can only take her on certain rides so it is limiting. You can always take turns like Sassie_Cass mentioned or have one person return back to the hotel with the 2 yr. old for naps, long breaks, etc. while the other one stays at the park longer with the 5 yr. old. - MimiMouse

if you decide to bring only your 5 yr daughter be sure to get a autograph book and take pictures then when you get home place pictures w autograph and other pictures and be sure to get picture of all cast members will help with this. then your daughter will have this book, my daughter loves her books and has them stored now. she says they will always be her special times with mom oh I was a single mommy starting at 5 and 7 now they are 25 and 27 - Loridrives

Just to let you know my 2 year old grandaughters hates strollers too, we have a leash back pack monkey which works well in crowds , but we dontbring our stroller anymore because she wront ride in it, we rent one at Disneyland and for some reason she rides in the Disneyland one without any problems. - Brenda

I have a season pass and take my 2 year old almost every week and she loves it. She goes on all but the big rides (too short). I would say take the whole fam! Have fun :) - Nicole

I'd say considering how far you guys are traveling to bring her. She'll have fun and the pics with the two of them will make it real even if she doesn't remember. Just rent a stroller(tell her they have Mickey magic) and have fun! BTW I have 4 ranging from 10 to 3 and like to bring them all and sometimes individually(but we're only an hour away). - Ladystrac

Bring the 2 year old! I take mine all the time and she loves it! - Wife4Matt

Bring the 2 year old. And a stroller for when she's tired. - Nickelnorm
101.4 #3023 11:39AM
I think it depends on the two year old.
Some do really well with ppropriate breaks and stroller rides and some make it tough for the rest of the party to have any fun. Since you know your child best -- go with your gut instinct. - VillainsFan
