I was watching robin hood (Disney cartoon from the 70s) last night and something dawned on me. Disney movies often have such serious themes underneath the supposedly childish movie. This is why those movies hold up over time.

I absolutely love Robin Hood!!!! - scbcrew  138.7 #2466 7:31PM
Robin Hood is my favorite Disney cartoon. You're right though, these themes are why make them universal as well. - LisaMouse7531  409.1 #318 7:32PM
I just recently have become a disney freak and i agree, some of the disney movies hit me harder then regular drama movies. Toy story three and lion king for instance. I love my daughter and mines disney movie nights so much! - madsdad  1130.7 #72 7:33PM
So true! And they all have a good lesson to be learned. So many times I've said to one of my kids "Remember how when Pinocchio lied, how much trouble he got into?" or "remember when Simba was too afraid to stand up for his family and friends?" It's a great example for a serious lesson that children can relate to. I love Disney! - TandAlly  213.5 #1442 7:34PM
