I was at the parks on Monday and it was sooo busy that you could hardly navigate through the people and wait times were unreasonable. Who else finds it hard to enjoy the Disney magic when its like this?

I was there monday!! it was SOOOO crazy!! but I had a group with me so we decided every mouse for himself to rat race to the next ride! hahaha that made it fun! by group, I mean 12 adults...mainly photographers!!! (flickr) it was so much fun! I hope you managed to make the most of it!! - melynamarie  40.6 #3981 8:15AM
I have to admit I'm with u. I have two small children. We usually come in September but decided to come in June (we were there last week). It was hard to get through the crowds and keep a two-year old patient for those long waits. While it was fun, we'll reconsider coming during the summer. :) - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  33.1 #4243 8:19AM
During those days I usually just watch shows....the lines ae too much!  - Mouseketeer.for.Short  335.3 #450 8:20AM
That's why we try to only plan our visits during fall or winter, doesn't seem to be as busy. It's hard to enjoy yourself when your packed in like sardines & everyones tempers start to rise - plus my ankles get all bruised up from the strollers ;o) - hollyberry  368.9 #375 8:21AM
We do not like it when it's that busy. It's difficult to have a good time when people tempers are short and the limes are long. - MikeyMouse  63.8 #3512 8:22AM
I come with 4 kids two younger and two older so I'm very familiar with the impatientence of waiting in lines. I thought it was still to early into the Summer season to be that busy, we will wait until our AP's open up again in August. I pull my kids out of school and go, not busy and no long wait times. - luvlilo  19.9 #5065 8:24AM
Only, only, ONLY in the winter time for this family! - DisneyDawn  415.5 #310 8:26AM
When it's that busy I don't take my time in the parks too seriously. I just pick up some FPs, people watch and snack while waiting for my turn on the FP rides - PrincessJ  84.9 #3211 8:30AM
We were planning on going last Monday but didn't because we had come down sick last weekend. From the comments, it sounded exremely busy! My wife had mentioned that she thought it might be pretty busy because of the fact that Mon and Tues were the last two days open for SoCal select passes until Aug. We checked MW times on Weds last week, and there seemed to be a significant drop in how busy the park was. Anyone there Monday/Tues and Weds and saw a difference? - Roboito  317.0 #537 8:32AM
I can bare it, simPly because my live for Disneyland wins over. However my 8 year old has a hard time with such large crowds. I can see it in her face she stresses a bit in the hot sun mixed with huge crowded close proximity conditions. So we don't go as often in the summer.... - fireflymom  60.4 #3570 8:33AM
It's very difficult with a child or children!!! - scbcrew  138.7 #2463 8:38AM
I am SO with you on this! Monday was the first time I did not have a magical time @ DL. I had never ever seen it so crowded! And hope to never go back on a day like that, it was a bit overwhelming. I tried to hang out in the stores to escape the crowds but that didn't work. I wanted to meet up with MWers but that just didn't work. I hope September rolls around quick, I can't wait till school starts & crowds die down. - LAFDWifey  81.5 #3260 8:39AM
C'mon, you know the deal. Summer crowds are crazy. Either arrive early or go during slow times. Besides, meeting new people in lone is part of the magic. - DizKahuna  134.5 #2527 8:52AM
I'm a teacher and live in Southern Utah. We're passholders but don't have the luxury of waiting for the crowds to die down for obvious reasons. We've learned to deal with the crowds. We use fast passes, go early, swim and nap in the afternoon, and go late. We do shows and love the Animation Academy in DCA. People watching is always fun. Yup- it's crowded, bit it's still magical to us. We're just so thankful that we can go at all. If we could go when it wasn't crowded we would, but we rarely can, so we make the best of it. - redrockmickey  35.0 #4172 8:55AM
Being somewhat close to DLR, I can pretty much pick and choose when to go. Obviously, I'd prefer no crowds and make it a point to go a lot during the slower months. But sometimes, I just need my Disney "fix"! I'll get FPs, shop and eat, people watch and sometimes just find a quiet area and enjoy the magic away from the crowd. - Gia  785.5 #121 9:00AM
I think that Socal passes also good the last week in June. I'm like gia. I just go get a fast pass and go on one or two rides. Also check out the new pins and get a dole whip. Went last night and got to the park at 9:30. Wasn't bad and got on 3 rides. - sr citizen space ranger  48.6 #3782 9:04AM
Redrockmickey, I will be in St. George area starting tomorrow for a few days. Hope the weather is not too hot. - sr citizen space ranger  48.6 #3782 9:05AM
I was there Monday and it was different! Tried to stay extra night at DL hotel but all 3 were booked. Even they were surprised! It was almost as crowded as NYE! There were a lot of groups of teens. - SueBayou  2012.0 #34 9:11AM
We love the times when it's not so crowded but we also find ways to enjoy the magic when it's crazy crowded. It's easier when it's just the two of us because we can just hang out and let the magic happen. - vernswifevickie  348.6 #416 9:22AM
@space ranger. We'll be leaving tomorrow to head to DL! You should have great weather. Sun.-Mon. it's only suppose to be in the low 90s and Tues. It goes up to the mid 90s. That's well below the usual 105 we have this time of year. Low in the low 60s. Have a wonderful time in my colorful little part of the world! - redrockmickey  35.0 #4172 9:23AM
I do. It just isn't fun when it's like that. If you add the summer heat, it makes even more unbearable. I'll stick to the off season times, when it's quieter. Bless you brave souls who go when it's a madhouse.  - DisneyFanZoe  1096.7 #75 11:20AM
I was there Monday with 3 wacky kids (11, 7,7) & I think they did a better job @ driving me crazy, not the crowds! - weaver941  403.9 #324 11:25AM
We were there last Monday till yesterday (Friday) and I knew about mon/tues being the last day for So Cal APs so I knew what I was going to face and omg it was insane, my bf just kept reminding me that were going to be here for five days so there's no rush for us so on Monday we only rode a few rides and just walked around, tues was crazy as well and on Wednesday it was much better :) but then came Thursday and fri and it was crowded again so you gotta expect every day until mod august to be crowded since summer is here, people r celebrating honeymoons, birthdays, reunions, and a lot of summer camps r taking trips here as well - bren12  37.7 #4072 11:31AM
Just be grateful you can go and enjoy the time with your family and friends. You know it's busy you know it's hot you know it's crazy. Have Fun!!!! - Lifeguardmom  292.5 #657 11:31AM
it's summer, so it'll be busy. we expect it & enjoy ourselves despite that. we just go on less popular attractions, people watch & of course, eat - tiggermother  50.4 #3754 11:32AM
We were there last Friday. Couldn't ask for a more perfect day. light crowds, longest wait was star tours at 1 1/2 hours - CMsMom  445.2 #276 11:35AM
So stresssul - andrewpineda  4.8 #10836 11:46AM
Me!!! I love Disney but I find when the parks are busy the people are so rude! And it kills the magic. Especially people from out of town. If they don't get what they want they will say and do whatever because they feel they deserve it more. I saw one guy yell at a cast member about how he thought it was supposed to be the happiest place on earth and he was upset because the water was drained over by adventure land. Not like the cm did it herself and on purpose. He was down right mean! - Queenof2princesses  254.7 #965 12:05PM
My anxiety hates crowds. - deadmou53  38.6 #4040 12:13PM
I haven't had a visit this year that was not busy. I take it like a grain of salt. I may not get on all the rides but I still have 3 more visits planned this year. I'm lucky enough to be 3 1/2 hours away and plan ahead to get good rates on the hotels. Plus I'm at the happiest place on earth! - vegasbrat  403.8 #325 12:19PM
I was there Monday.... We left. - shewastomorrow  55.9 #3639 12:20PM
Best to check out blackout calendar first. - stratdad  291.1 #662 12:28PM
Maybe if I lived closer and could go any day I want I wouldn't mind the busy crowds as much. But I feel the same way as you @luvlilo- it's hard to feel the magic when people are anxious, and pushy and rude. I'll stick to going on off seasons. - BrookeA6100  37.8 #4069 12:36PM
There were a lot of people "sharing" wheelchairs too. Even a family with kids taking turns. Wow way to go mom and dad! - SueBayou  2012.0 #34 12:37PM
@Bibbidi. I'm sorry I missed seeing you guys!! Hopefully soon!! - JenAnneWho  300.7 #610 12:38PM
Seriously?! A family sharing a wheelchair? So pathetic and sad. - stratdad  291.1 #662 12:40PM
Ditto. I'm used to being there in Aug pre-FP years and on weekends so i wasnt too worried about waiting. Even so it was crazy. We planned on a Mon/Tues trip not knowing the socal APs were being blocked soon. I dont feel we got in as many rides in the past, but we did lots of special things like the Lilly belle and Aladdin show. - cesium55  529.7 #216 12:43PM
We only go once a year so we make the most of every situation!!! We are always happy just to be there! - calidream1  383.4 #351 12:45PM
I prefer the winter with cooler temps and less crowds. But my DLand addiction takes over every year. - Tammilani  44.6 #3863 12:47PM
I find it really hard. I'm partially blind and can only see out of one eye, so I'm either bumping into people, or people think I see them from the left side and I don't, so they walk straight into me. Very difficult & frustrating sometimes, because i miss having my entire vision!!!!! - OCdrumGuy  549.0 #203 12:51PM
I don't mind the large crowds as long as i can experience the magic that Is DL... It doesn't hurt that this time around we (hubby & I) will have a hotel room to chill out in if it gets to be too much. - stargoddess120  509.6 #231 12:55PM
@redrockmickey. Thanks for the info. - sr citizen space ranger  48.6 #3782 12:57PM
Being an AP we are lucky to be able to leave if it's too unbearable, but usually we plan for it. We do the things that we don't normally do like Captain EO, or Muppet vision, or search out street performers to watch. We think it's magical no matter what. - OutNumberedMom  776.2 #125 12:59PM
Whew, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way Monday! It really was crazy. I do feel lucky that I live close enough to go several times a year so next time I'll definitely plan accordingly. - LAFDWifey  81.5 #3260 1:12PM
You definately have to alter your day when the crowds are excessive, im not a fan of the crowds either but its so unpredictable you almost have to plan for it in advance. - donnievegas  1127.5 #72 1:22PM
