My maid of honor (I actually had two) was one of my best friends in high school and she dated my husband for a short while in junior year. We didn't start dating until junior of year od college. Their friendship only wavered for a few months after their breakup and we've all been best friends since. My brother's ex introduced and set him up with his wife! We're all really easy going and when we say "let's just be friends" we mean it, and let the non-romantic part of our relationships continue to grow.
