It's a huge bummer when u tell people u super into Disney and their reply is: "you know walt Disney was an anti-Semite". Is there even any proof? I couldn't more than a family guy episode and rumor.
No, it's not true. I believe in the late 40s he was involved with a group that aligned themselves with the Nazis. Walt backed away from that group, the name escapes me, for that very reason. Many former employees say he was in no way a racist, he even hired Jewish people and they came out in his defense. It is completely untrue. - DisneyFanZoe

It's not a menorah, it's a candelabra. A menorah is a nine branched candelabra where 8 candleholders are equal height and the ninth holder, called the shamash ("helper" or "servant"), is for a candle used to light all other candles. The POTC item you're referring to has nine but they are all different heights. No religious symbolism. - SorcererMky

I read a huge book on Walt Disney for a research project, and this was one of the subjects I covered. I wish I had the book, or at least my research paper. The rumors about him being an anti semite probably stemmed from a strike in the 40s, i think. But people who worked for him, even jewish people, said that he treated everyone equally. Diane his daughter said that he accepted all races and religions. - AllysonWonderland
