Is it just me or are the attractions going down more and more? Seems like Indy is down at least once every few days. Today noticed splash and monorail are closed. What gives?

Once every few days? Indis down once every few hours!!! - Yeti_Man  476.1 #253 1:07PM

Referb? I hope rebuild! That ride is a pain! - Yeti_Man  476.1 #253 1:24PM
Indy goes down alot because people don't take their glasses and hats off. When that stuff hits the track it is triggered to shut down. According to my CM friend. She also mentioned that all the stuff that is retrived and not picked up by the owners are being donated to the Salvation Army and they will be autioning it all off later this month.  - Dizzy4Disney  47.5 #3806 1:28PM
LOL @JW - I hope when you finally get to go it is all you ever hoped and more! - Dreamseeker  526.9 #219 1:39PM
Indy is pure sensor / electronic / software faults & malfunctions. Matterhorn + Space are zone emergency stops. When a train is about to enter another trains block the ride will trigger the e-stop which the system cannot recover from. Mechanics have to restart the ride and cycle the trains the through the ride for the PLC, and sensors to locate all the trains. That's why the breakdowns take a while, everything has to be cycled before they will allow guests to board. If there is a mechanical problem, they will force you to leave the queue so the mechanics can check out it out. It's also possible a proximity sensor is tripped by a foreign object dropped a guest which will cause the computer to detect a phantom train which it thinks could cause a collision, so the first trains are passed to the next avaialbe block zone and all brakes are clamped when the trains enter their appropriate block zones safely. Hope this clears up the 'breakdown' problems. - 0wnage  154.8 #2231 1:43PM
Sounds like me and Ownage are defending Indy.  - Dizzy4Disney  47.5 #3806 1:45PM
Wow ownage! Cool info - how do you know all this? I pretty much ride and stay clueless about the rides workings, LOL! - Momvl  24.2 #4725 1:48PM
The computer systems that control each ride take an average of 20-30 minutes to start up and cycle before they are ready to 'open' a ride. So a stop or breakdown just adds to that restart time. - BlueberryCrusader  650.7 #161 3:17PM
