Hi, Chub33ers! I just wanted to let you all know that I've discovered a great place to find quality workout gear--TJ Maxx (who would have thought?!). I found my Nike Tempo running shorts (which retail for $30-35) for only $10. I also found a pair of Asics Kayano 16 running shoes (which retail for $140-150) for only $70. I tried the same exact shoe on in Foot Action in the mall (Runner's World recommended it), but I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much money. It pays to dig for a bargain--check out your local discount stores, and you might actually be surprised at what you can find!
Thanks! I love tj maxx. I just wish they hadn't shut down the location a few blocks from my house. - TamiPoppins

Oh darn! I'm sorry to hear that! If it makes you feel any better, my nearest one is 40 minutes away! - Spoonful_O_Sugar

Wow, that is very far! Luckily there's another location that's only about 15 mins away, so it's not a long shlep. I hope they open one closer to you soon. - TamiPoppins

I have to laugh...I went to TJ Maxx 2 days ago and also saw the Asic Kayano 16 shoes which were also recommended to me at Runner's Lane after they measured my feet and watched me run. I ened up getting a pair of Brooks but this weekend I plan to get the Asics as well as some new running gear. - MXPrincess399

That's funny, MXPrincess. Yeah, I can't justify spending $140 on a single pair of sneakers, but $70 is a good price for me. I've gone on a few runs and they are very comfortable and hold my foot in place (I'm pretty wobbly, I guess). I hope you like them :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar
