So my long awaited trip is coming up next week and this morning my husband calls me and tells me his job is sending him out of town and he can't go despite giving them 2 months notice, oh well I'm still going to make the 6 hour drive and spend 3 days there with my 5 kids. This is going to be a challenge so it should be interesting. Wish me luck.
You'll be fine!! I'm sure other MWers will be there to keep you company!! - Katrayher

I have 6 kids and I know how hard these things are especially the "short" notice stuff! Just tell yourself to have fun and relax! It will turn out to be one of the best days ever! Guaranteed!!!! :) - calidream1

Thanks Calidream1, I am definitely going to relax and not rush anything. Whatever we get to do is better than sitting at home doing nothing. We are going to have an awesome time. He didn't really want to go anyways and I just needed him for the extra hands. The only thing that worries me is sending the boys to the bathroom alone, they are 7 and 9 so to old to take them in the ladies bathroom and what do I do with them when I need to take my daughter to the bathroom? Will they be ok waiting outside? They won't leave but I don't want to get in trouble for leaving them alone for a minute. - GonzalezCrew

The boys will be fine. Send them together and let them know to also come out together. Have a good time don't worry to much just stay close to them cause it will be busy and you don't want to get lost - thumpur

7 years old is the age disneyland allows children to ride alone on the attractions, so you certainly won't get in trouble for having them wait outside the restrooms. Having the 2 of them wait together will probably work great! My 7 year old son still has to join his sisters and I in the ladies room, because I am not comfortable having him wait alone. Sounds like a super fun vacation for you and the kiddos! Enjoy! - PieRatAL

I have 5 boys and 1 girl so I make the boys go and i wait for them. Then I take my daughter with me and they wait outside the doors. However I am pretty lucky now because my oldest will be 13 on Sun and he helps like Daddy would! And the rest are 10, 8,6 4 and the baby is 18 months.Nice now cuz I just finished weaning my baby last month before a previous trip we took. - calidream1

@Cali I have 4 boys 1 girl and the boys always go with their dad to the restroom so was just a little nervous. The boys are 9, 7, 7 and 15 months and my daughter is going to be 5. They should be fine waiting outside for a minute while I take the baby and my daughter. - GonzalezCrew

Well now I really won't have any stress because my twin boys decided they want to go camping with their cousins instead. I'm kinda sad they decided this and also because it's their first time camping. And my sister in law will be coming with me to help me with the three I'm taking. I can't wait for next week. - GonzalezCrew

Congrats to you, Mama, for being so easy going! Some people would really freak out at all the last minute changes. Good for you, keeping in perspective the fun times you are going to be having when all is said and done! - PixieMom

Thanks pixie, I only agreed because they have never been camping before and to be honest two less kids just make it that much easier for me, lol. It was their idea so I don't feel bad. - GonzalezCrew
