I was only there once and rented a car. Check online, I don't remember it being very convenient by Bart. Maybe it just took too long. - DisneyPhotoFan

Its nowhere near Bart. The Disney Family Museum is in the Precidio which is next to the golden gate bridge. You will definitely need a taxi or car. You can take bart into city, but from there you need to takr a taxi or bus. - michelledork

When I went it was kind of hidden, there might be a Bart around but it may be a longggg walk - bren12

I'm on my phone so it won't let me look up the directions from the site. But it's on opposite ends of the city and google was giving too many bus transfers for someone not from the city. Like DPF said, look up the museum's website and it should have directions from multiple locations depending on where you're coming from - cesium55

Oh yeah, they're doing construction to the lot in front of it so it'll be a bit hidden behind fences. If you do drive, park on the left of the walkway cuz I think you'll be past the permit parking side and it should be free. But check first - cesium55

There isn't a BART station near the Museum. Best bet is to drive or taxi - StephiePooh

Paying for a cab would be worth it, the precidio isn't near a Bart station and the buses will just confuse you lol - crmwed

It's NOT CLOSE at all!! We took bart but then cab'd it over there. The cab ride was about 15 minutes . But be sure you get the cab drivers number because when you leave, there will be no cabs around. - PartyMousterAIR

The walt Disney family museum is in the presidio distric of San Francisco. There's no Bart station near there so it would be best to take a taxi straigh from one of the downtown Bart stations unless you know the bus system so you could get closer before you get a taxi. Hope that helps. :) - RetroMinnie

If you do choose to take BART, here are two options. This is peak workday commute opt: BART: Take BART to the Embarcadero Station. Transfer to MUNI 41, which terminates outside the Presidio’s Lombard Gate (near the intersection of Lombard Street and Lyon Street). To reach destinations inside the Presidio, connect with PresidiGo Shuttle at Stop 1, just inside the Lombard Gate. The 2nd opt is regular daily service: BART: Take BART to the Powell Street Station. Transfer to MUNI 45, which terminates outside the Presidio’s Lombard Gate (near the intersection of Lombard Street and Lyon Street). To reach destinations inside the Presidio, connect with PresidiGo Shuttle at Stop 1, just inside the Lombard Gate. I'm not sure how long the bus will take you but I do know that if it drops you off at the Lombard gate, you'll be right around 1 Letterman Dr. where ILM and LucasArts is along with the Yoda fountain... and more importantly, a Starbucks ;) - cesium55
