? for the MW CM's - do you rotate jobs around the park or stay in one place? If rotate - how often? Who assigns everyones place? Lastly, do plaids have seniority? Thanks. Just curious. ;)
Attractions are assigned to one land, anyone else I believe you are not land locked - PrincessTianaCM

For stores, we mostly stay in the same "land" or side of the park. Casting assigns your place. For me, I'm land-locked in Adventure/Frontier for 90 days (which is almost up). Then technically after my land-lock, scheduling can put me in any store in the park. For attractions, its depends on your land, but mostly you stay in your land. And yes, plaids do have seniority. - BaseballMickey_CM

Do you own your custumes or rent them? And do you have to share them with other people? That's what I've wondered. Do you enjoy working different lands or is it better to stay in one? - JediTrance

Thanks! Do plaids get people on rides faster or do they just tag along? Also how much seniority does Maynard have? He is hilarious! - mcarthy6

@BBM how do you become a plaid? - MsNick
55.9 #3631 12:56PM
For attractions you stay in your "land" but in DCA there are only 2 lands among the CMs which is paradise pier and Hollywood you get to learn 3 attraction or more but only work 3 at a time and ofcourse guest controle like WOC or electronica. You rent your costume u can have 3 out at a time and u can return them for a new one anytime hope this helps :) - EvyJoBonCM

To become a plaid, you have to be in Guest Relations - BaseballMickey_CM
2810.8 #16 12:59PM
You just apply to become one and you have seniority among other CMs but nt within the plaids so the newer plaids don't have the same seniority as older ones because anytime you transfer from a land or learn a new ride or transfer parks or jobs your seniority starts at 0 again my friend just became a plaid :) - EvyJoBonCM

The plaids have no authority when in an attraction. The atraction operators are trained in the SOP of the attraction and the plaids are great at leaving that to the operators. They will usually let you know they are there and why and then the ride ops take over. I am not sure how it works with stores but I am sure that the store cast members have authority in the stores. - BalooTBear

CMs (the ones that have been there awhile) are going to be a little quite on the behind the scenes type questions. It is not that we are trying to be snobby or unhelpful but part of the magic is mainatining the illusions. Plus, as I am sure the new CMs remember from their recent training, a CM is a CM when they are at DLR, on MW or wherever. I we love to be involved with mousewait I hope you all understand. - BalooTBear

Maynard has been there 17 years. Becuase he has been there so long he will get a higher priority when it comes to scheduling. However, he is not a lead or manager so he has no "seniority" over other cast memebers. He is in my dept. (and age bracket) so he and I spend time together back stage. I worked with him twice this week on the parade route. I enjoy talking with him backstage. - BalooTBear

So interesting! Do guests with plaids get anything special or no? - mcarthy6
426.5 #297 2:29PM
they get escorted by a plaid. If they are on a tour, the get cool info. If they are a celeb. they may get taken into the attraction through an alternate entrance. It really depends on the reason they are with someone from Guest services. - BalooTBear
904.4 #97 2:31PM
Interesting info!! How much does it cost to be escorted by a plaid? - Natalie77
4.3 #12267 2:40PM
I think between 300-400 dollars an hour Someone said before - Mrsblue
692.4 #144 2:42PM
So if I "rented" a Plaid for the day as a regular Joe, would they get you on attractions like the celebs, or is that a celeb only perk? - CaliCanuck
511.7 #229 2:56PM
Anyone can get a plaid and the perks that come with it if you pay for it - Mrsblue

Lol! We walk in to Heartstone escorted by our Plaid aka Butter. We order drinks and sit down. Waitress brings drinks and eyeballs us. Later comes and asks me for my CM ID. Me" i am not a CM" Waitress" oh" walks away. Comes back looks at Butter and says " SHOULD YOU BE DRINKING?" Butter says "why not? " Waitress says " YOU are a plaid" butter says Idk what you are talking about? Waitress leaves Butter takes plaid vest off. It was so FUNNY. - Mrsblue

CM's - is the best part of your job making little kids smile? It's got to be so fun. DL truly is so magical. When my oldest was little, we were at Goofy's Kitchen. She saw the Beast coming & bolted under tge table & cut her knee. The manager came over mortified. When he could tell I was not just there to litigate DL through my kids injury - he & security really lightened up. I thanked them all. A nurse gave her a band aid, kissed her knee, & said Mickey said the bandaid was from him. My daughters eyes lit up like a Christmas tree & then Pluto,Chip, & Dale hugged her. She smiled for hours. The manager offered to pay for tge meal & I said it was ok - my daughter was happy. Well, they asked who her favorite character was & we said Pooh. Guess what happened next? They found our room at the DL Hotel, and Winnie the Pooh knocked on the door & visited our whole family in tge room for 15 minutes. As they were leaving, the man with them said Mickey wants you to have these & they gave us ALL the Pooh friends stuffed animals! My daughter is over 18 now - but guess where all those stuffed animals are - still on her bed. :). Tell me Disney employees aren't the best!!! M6 - mcarthy6

This is a fun read! Just wanted to add for anyone asking, no, you can not buy your way to the front of the lines with a ' plaid'. :) celebrities, if recognizable, do not have the option of going without a plaid, because they would disturb the disney show. That is why they are not waiting in lines with other guests. - PieRatAL
619.7 #176 4:29PM
Actually I called about reserving a plaid (something we are considering this summer) and if you get the VIP tour and pick the Premium option, they WILL get you on FP attractions (and a couple extra) ahead of everyone. Basically you have a FP with you that doesn't need to wait for a return time. that being said, you have to shell out $300/hr w/ a 6 hr minimum - CaliCanuck

Cali, your doing this in October with your Canadian friend right?? ( wink wink) - Taylorta09

On one of those netflix documentaries, I saw this lady talking about how she remembered having a plaid at WDW as a kid and how glad she was that they still had VIP service because it was the only way for her. I almost threw something at the tv. - bluefairy
