question! i have a socal annual pass and i was thinking of renewing my pass before it expired to a deluxe because i get 20 dollars off it i do it like that. does the new pass (the deluxe) start as soon as my old one (the socal) expires? or does it start from the first time i use it? like, if the socal expires in july but i don't use the deluxe until august will it expire next july or august? thanks! sorry if it sounds confusing.
It expires one year from the renewal date so if your renewal date is July XX, then it expires next July XX... hope that helped clear it up - Goofed_out

a cast member told me you're allowed to RENEW two months in advance. - MrAndMrsDisney

You can renew/upgrade 30 days before your pass expires. If you upgrade you can actually use your new deluxe pass as soon as you get it. Get up to 30 additional days of having a deluxe pass. - Coaster

I was told you can UPGRADE(not renew) anytime, you just have to pay the difference between passes upfront. - MrAndMrsDisney

Yes, you can upgrade anytime, but your upgraded pass expires at the same time your original pass would have expired. If you renew and upgrade at the same time you get an upgraded pass for 12+ months since you can renew up to 30 days before your pass expires and start using your new pass as soon as you get it. Usually a few days after you upgrade. It also doesn't make sense to upgrade a pass that is expiring in a few weeks. - Coaster

thanks for explaining that, coaster. i read mrandmrsdisney's post and i was like, wait...why would i upgrade when it expires in a few weeks? - nicoleface
