You can renew/upgrade 30 days before your pass expires. If you upgrade you can actually use your new deluxe pass as soon as you get it. Get up to 30 additional days of having a deluxe pass. - Coaster  9142.5 #1 11:27PM

Yes, you can upgrade anytime, but your upgraded pass expires at the same time your original pass would have expired. If you renew and upgrade at the same time you get an upgraded pass for 12+ months since you can renew up to 30 days before your pass expires and start using your new pass as soon as you get it. Usually a few days after you upgrade. It also doesn't make sense to upgrade a pass that is expiring in a few weeks. - Coaster  9142.5 #1 11:42PM
