Chub33ers: Post your health, fitness, and weight loss victories here! (Examples: losing weight, fitting into your skinny jeans, lowering blood pressure or cholesterol, improving your half marathon time, going to the gym for the first time, etc). Can be something you realized today, this week, this month, or this year. Let's celebrate our achievements!
In 2009, I earned my graduate degree, got married, and started my career. It was a year of exciting changes personally and professionally, and I quickly became preoccupied with my new home and work duties. By the end of 2010, I realized that I was out of shape physically and mentally, and I was completely exhausted. I exercised sporadically, but I could barely run a mile in January. For someone who used to log 20-30 miles a week, I felt very discouraged. This year, I really worked on making time for myself, and I have now found a balance between work (a lot of my work comes home with me, unfortunately) and home and have found the time to exercise regularly like I used to. For me, this balance is a huge achievement. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I wish I could post a diet "achievement", but I always seem to gain back what I lose. For the past 3 years I've lost weight (for my trip to DL in the summer) and then gain it all back! I get so mad at myself, but I've also been laid off from 2 jobs in between so there's other extenuating circumstances (I eat better when I'm working!). Anyway, this is the first time that I've lost some weight by just eating good (as opposed to eating only Jenny Craig food) and although my weight loss is stalled, I'm still feeling good that I'm learning to eat right! Hopefully the weight will all come off (before August!) and it'll stay off this time! - msdizmaui

msdizmaui, you've had tons of victories! In your comment, you say that you feel good because you're learning to eat right--that is a HUGE achievement :) It's less about the number on the scale and more about the quality of your life. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I was lying... it's all about the numbers on the scale and whether I can wear my size 4 clothes...lol! Nah - I know that I should look at my eating better as a victory, but I've been so driven by the numbers for so long that it's hard to let it go. Also, when I'm dieting, I can't help it... I want to see results. But bottom line... you're right! :) - msdizmaui

Yeah, I know. I still struggle sometimes with my "numbers!" At the end of the day, though, they're just numbers--only one facet of my overall health. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I have been on MW since 2009, and used to always post but I have stopped in the recent months. I have decided to check in here daily to track my progress. I started working out on Saturday and I have lost 3 pounds so far. I have been pushing myself as hard as I can and I am really enjoying it. I took starting measurements, weight, and pictures. Thanks for all your support! - danie_loves_nick

Wow! I didn't realize people could walk so much at the parks, Twinklelashes! I need to get a pedometer (it'll make me feel less guilty when I have my Monte Cristo and Pommes frites). Yes--you've made some great steps :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar

Very tiring!!! I bought wii active 2 and I was so exhausted halfway through! Otter than that, I did some kickboxing and weekly dodgeball with my gym buddies. I certainly feel more fit than before :). And thank you! - Madi 204.1 #1572 4:46PM
