Does anyone know if you can slowly pay off a room with the "good neighbor" hotels like you can with the Disneyland Resort hotels?
That's what were planning to do this year. I'm pretty sure you can give payments until a month before your arrival. - ingridd

How exactly does that work for the DL Hotel?? - wicked50

If your making a reservation for the DL hotel then you simply ask them if you can pay your reservation package through payments. A deposit is 200 I believe. Then you can simply pay the rest. - ingridd

@wicked50 you book a hotel room on the Disneyland website and they have you pay the first night up front. The rest you make payments when you can as long as you have the whole thing paid a month before your stay. - CherryTreeLane

You are welcome. What hotel are you planning to stay in? We still can't decide. The DL hotel is too expensive this year. - ingridd

Not sure yet. I've been reading posts about other people asking for advice on hotels near the parks but haven't actually looked myself. We're planning a visit in Oct. - CherryTreeLane

Yes. We payed off our stay at the DL hotel last Aug. Through payments. Plus you can do the same even if there is a special offer. You have to pay off your package a month before your arrival in order for them to send you your package. It's handy if you call to make a reservation instead of booking it online. Usuallyy same prices. Now if anyone knows of good nearby hotels let me know. Oh I called to ask if the DL hotel had any special offers this summer but sadly they don't. - ingridd

@lyuzmickey27 I'm not sure how far out in advance you can book. My husband said he saw up to a year? Can anyone confirm that or correct me? - CherryTreeLane

Here's a quick tip. It's better to wait for a special offer and pay your reservation through payments rather then start a reservation a year early because you will save a couple hundred. - ingridd

Good tip ingridd. Do you have a few hotels in mind? I know you said you're not sure yet which one. - CherryTreeLane

Well we were thinking the Fairfield inn but there's alot of mixed reviews so I'm not sure. I want to stay at one that doesn't require transportation. Nor one that's longer than a 20 minute walk. I don't know! Haha. - ingridd

A few of my friends stay at the Tropicana, it's right across the street. Not sure of the price. I have seen several others mentioned on hear that I'm going to. - CherryTreeLane

I have stayed at the Tropicana, it was decent, great access to DL this last March we stayed down the road at the Howard Johnson, the hotel and rooms were nice but the extra walk after walking all day at both parks about killed our feet off at night. - iyuzMickey

Full disclosure: I work at the Howard johnsons and I think it's a great hotel. Most of the complaints we get are from the noise so just get the premium rooms. You can see the matterhorn and the fireworks from them :) - djbreakdown

The prices at both the hotels I stayed at were reasonable, @djbreakdown I didn't hear any noise when we stayed there, all in all, I prefer the HJ over the Tropicana (cleaner/newer rooms) but my feet preferred the Tropicana as far as walking distance from the park. LOL, next trip I am looking at staying at the DL hotel, that has been my dream! :0) - iyuzMickey

I'm soo sad were not staying at the DL this year. Maybe next year. It's like you never leave Disneyland. Last year was by far my fav trip. - ingridd

@lyuzmickey: I agree with you. That walk is pretty far especially at night :) glad your stay was good though:) - djbreakdown
