I need some opinions... What's something special that I can do for my dads birthday at disneyland...we'll be staying at the grand, he's turning 53, and likes "sit down" restaurants...what do you guys think?

Carnation Cafe is very good and it's a sit down outdoor restaurant! You can make reservations so no waiting in line and it's right on Main Street! Also, there is a great place in Downtown Disney called La Brea Bakery Cafe that is sit down as well. - kbeenss

Absolutely ! Blue Bayou. Make sure to make reservations, ask to sit by the water, and wave to the people in the boats. Lol - SueBayou

Because he is turning "53" you should find him something Herbie related, with the 53 on it, like a pin or something. This way, he will remember what you did for him on his 53'rd B-Day. - proudcanuck

I'm taking my dad in two weeks for his birthday...this is what I have planned reservations at cafe orleans, bought him a park hopper, and we are watching all the shows that day! Plus since he hasn't been to DCA I'm taking him on TOT :) so just a few ideas - DisneyVillain

Napa Rose if he's serious about good food. Bleu bayou is cute and food is decent but Napa Rose is an award winning and not your usual Disney sit down restaurant. Sit at the chefs counter and let the chef cook for you. The chef will pick out the meal. Its pricey but will truley be a different experience and is located at your hotel. If you are on a budget try the steak house. - Momerath
