Has anyone tried kick boxing to lose weight? Im going to start monday and just wanted some feedback. TIA

It kicks your butt! Don't forget water! Don't drink too much during cuz you'll cramp up but would like that cold water after lol. Put one bottle in the freezer for about an hour or so, that way after your workout it's nice and refreshing - kayrassaCM  25.7 #4604 11:11AM

I'm in a kickboxing class! It is really intense and lots of cardio with weights and balance! I've learned so many self defense techniques and it is a good way to lose weight! Also helps with running in the future so you wont be tired as much - Madi  204.1 #1571 1:18PM

In this semster (I take kickboxing in college) I have lost 10 pounds in 5 months, but my classes were only once a week, so it will decrease faster if you do it more than once a week! also my KB instructor said its not only doing this, you have to drinks lots of water and eat healthy :) - Madi  204.1 #1571 3:22PM
Kickboxing is a great cardio and muscle building workout--plus it's fun! You should lose some weight, but that will depend on your body chemistry, your starting fitness level, and your food intake. For example, someone who is already very active and health conscious won't likely see all that much weight loss, although he/she will probably notice a change in muscle definition or body composition. On the other hand, someone who is typically sedentary with unhealthy eating habits will probably see very dramatic results, especially if kickboxing is combined with a healthier diet! And Madi and Kayrassa are so right--kickboxing is a great way to cross train to build cardio endurance for other sports. Well its going to be monday wednesday and friday and the days between I will be running treadmill. Also will be changing my diet. Im not very "active" now. Im 5'5 and weigh 155! I want to get back down to 125-130 at least - pintsize  287.8 #683 5:29PM

Not yet it was very intense and I loved it! Its exactly what I need... someone in my face helping me do things right. Lots of punching kicking combos running and situps to start and end the class. Im a little sore now but I know tomorrow will be a different story lol. Im glad my Fiance works with the instructor cause that makes it way harder to try to quit... can't have him talking smack about me at work! Lol.
