What happens to the thief? Do they get kicked out? Arrested? Banned for life? Last yr for my b day we went to DL and my sisters school went the same day but she went and hung around with us well I noticed everyone from her school had a grip of merchandise well I later found out everything was stolen and I'm thinking how did this happen is security not doing there job? Doesn't DL have under cover? I told my sister those people were pathetic for stealing, she agreed. - LAHaPpY13420

I've been working on a project! ;) I can't wait for "story time" BBM & lsmarz!!! :D Rob-sorry, no, I walked up on the "aftermath" thief was face-down on the ground in front of the Penny Arcade, DL (Anaheim PD???) dude in black and a couple DL security and a huge crowd started gathering. I first thought the thief had fainted or something but he was suddenly hauled up buy the guy in black with hands behind his back and ppl started clapping, then I overheard a lady tell her kids, "see, that's why you should never steal, because that's what will happen!" I totally LOL'd! Some punk in his late teens/early 20s, IDK what he tried to steal, but he'll never do that @ DL again, DL has swung the ban hammer on that guy! - MinnieYooHoo

This is one of my fascinations being in the field. You rarely see security dealing with a negative. I think there are probably many occassions where theft is overlooked just for the sake of not creating a scene or having foot pursuits of knuckleheads through the park. Either that or the secret monkeys and gorillas that live in Walt's tunnels jump out and snatch up the offenders pulling them down and out of the parks. The ban records name, photo, and date of birth. Yes the offender could come back with another ticket but if they are contacted for a negative or recognized in violation, they are both arrested for trespass and their is a significant civil penalty of a heavy fine. It seems to pose as enough of a deterrent to keep people away if they are banned. The duration of the ban is typically lifetime at stores and retail establishments but Disney could set their own standard. - unclebeezy

In Exit Through the Gift Shop, they took him to Disney jail and interrogated him. He "deleted" his evidence and they couldn't hold him on anything. So they released him after four hours. The piece was in place for anout an hour before they caught on. I was thinking he used tapes but now that i think about it, you can't just delete a tape, you just record over it. So he slipped the memory chip in his sock but they didn't search him so he got away with it. I would have filmed in the jail while i was at it. haha. - craziemutant

Wow that is crazy!!! I've never seen anyone get caught for stealing. The only time I've ever seen security in action is during fireworks, fantastic, and parade. Huge men getting in fights over viewing areas. - MissErikaRae_CM
