I apologize in advance for the potential long-windedness of what I'm about to post, but bear with me; I rarely write a novel here and I'll do my best to keep it short. I read several reviews of MW and have seen multiple people mention the "cliques" in the lounge. I want to start by saying that just like in real life, there will always be cliques if you get a bunch of people in one area. We naturally gravitate to similar personalities and to those most like ourselves; anyone who says they don't is outright lying. I'm a sarcastic person and I tend to associate with likeminded people; that's why I've become friends with people like Zooter or Rum or even Dave (even though I hate him). I'm guilty of being a little cranky or "feisty" here, but its the internet and anyone who has met me can attest to the fact that I'm generally pretty nice to everyone. Just because I made fun of your post doesn't mean I hate you or you should take it personally; it just means I thought your post stunk. If someone being mean to you on MW is the worst thing to happen to you today, you're lucky. The world is a scary place and people aren't always nice; rest assured that nearly everyone I've met here has been welcoming and friendly despite whatever "clique" they fall into or their personality on the lounge may suggest. I've been physically threatened over jokes I've made here, and the first thing I could think to do was laugh at the idea of some dumb joke I made inspiring such ridiculous behavior. I know I got off on a tangent, but long story short, cliques exist. It's silly to think they don't. Either way, it's all harmless fun (though perhaps at your expense). Don't take it personally. Keep an open mind and have a sense of humor, otherwise you'll just be trash like Marieezy (if any of you still thought that was real, it wasn't. Marieezy's absolutely wonderful and you should all give her a hug if you get the chance). K, you guys can have your soapbox back.

I'm fairly new here, I've commented here and there, basically still learning the etiquette around here. I have to say that the use of the word "clique" is somewhat unfair. people on here have groups of friends that have grown close over time. those people shouldn't get punished or made to feel bad because of it, it is their right to cultivate friendships with whomever they want. What I do see in here is alot of people who have made great friends through here and that is something to be proud of as a community!
