As I posted on FB: "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that"

I can respect this line of thinking but I am elated in knowing this individual is gone for the terror he represents in this world. Absent the amazing work of US INTELLIGENCE and our armed forces, this same individual would not have hesitated one moment from the opportunity of taking your life or those of your family and friends. - unclebeezy

@unclebeezy- I agree. I am definitely a peace-loving person, but I could not help the elation that hit me when I heard the news last night. I can't really consider a being as evil as OBL to be human, so I can't really feel like a human life was taken. - TandAlly

I agree with unclebeezy. This person had no idea what love for your fellow man. He would not think twice to take your life or mine. He had a chance to give up, but decided to fight and came out on the loosing end. God bless our troops! - DarthMickey

That seems unfair. By butter being right, it means I and the others are wrong. That we should not rejoice in our own feelings for this individual. Feelings aren't right or wrong, they are just feelings.
I spend everyday of my professional life protecting others and dealing with the ugly side of people that most don't ever want to see. And I do it because I believe in protecting everyone's right to their own feelings. I am not throwing a yay, a person is dead party but I do see the horrific things that man has done, the countless deaths of people all over the world, and the fact that he professes the killing of even more. That is someone that I honestly believe dr. King would not have lost any sleep over seeing eradicated from existence.
I do appreciate your feelings and the way in which you expressed them, but I think there is room for the opposite feelings too.
I will leave this subject and apologize if anyone is in anyway offended by this. I'll also get us back to Disney stuff because this is a wonderful escape from the ugly that this world sometimes has to offer and the home of some of the more amazing and gracious people I have ever known.

Dahulagirl if you read the post on my FB I said a very similar thing. I wanted him brought to justice. However I am glad that what what he symbolized to them is now no longer here. - PrettyPixie

I love being an American!!! We have the right to our own opinions!!! Whether we rejoiced when he heard the news or we were outraged...it doesn't make us more or less patriotic!!! Respect everyone's opinions so that they in turn can respect yours...it doesn't mean you agree. Not aimed at anyone in particular just wanted to state this - MozPrincess

Hi. Did not mean to cause any controversy. If I have I deeply apologize. A very long time ago I read a book called The Peace Pilgrim. Laugh all you want at my simple ways. I don't mind at all. It's fine. I celebrate that we can intelligently voice our viewpoints. Yes I am a knucklehead. But just like Gracie Hart, I really do want World Peace. Thank you for reading. - Butterlina

And sorry I forgot. I have also learned an important lesson many years ago. Ask yourself thus question: Do I want to be right, or do I want to be happy? It's not a matter of being right or better than..... I choose happy. - Butterlina

I love that statement. My take us, I mourn the loss of the thousands that died as a result of that man. I am in no way saddened by his death, but I am also not celebrating his death either. I'm glad he was brought to justice even if it meant his death, but in reality, a life was lost. Evil or not, I will not celebrate that. Just my opinion! - DizGeek
