On this day in Disney history. There's alot but here are a few. 1928 Walt re-negotiates w/ Charles Mintz for next series of Oswald cartoons. 1976 WDW welcomes 50-millionth guest. 2000 WDW is planning space exploration attraction. 2009 DCL starts construction on Dream & Fantasy ships. 2010 Alice in Wonderland origianal m.p soundtrack & Almost Alice are released on same day.

When Walt went to renegotiate he unexpectedly lost Oswald, so during the train ride back to CA he came up with the idea for a new character. A mouse. He initially wanted to call him Mortimer, but his wife suggested Mickey.

I didn't know that about Casey Jr.! But it makes sense cuz I was just there the other night with my bf and we definitely got the fast train! Awesome! Makes sense though, Matterhorn is the same way... Anyway, my all time favorite ride in Fantasyland is Peter Pan! It's my fav Disney movie too. I've always wanted to fly to Neverland... - WendyDarling
