If anyone has been in Fantasy Land recently you may have noticed what they did to the "Alice In Wonderland" ride. My friend and I hypothesized that it might have been done in case the rode broke down or to add "suspense" for young riders. We asked the ride operator who explained everything. Disney was forced by OSHA to do it after seeing a cast member walking on that portion of the track and deemed it unsafe. Thanks OSHA for marring a great ride! It's lost some of it's charm. :(
what did they do to the ride??? - JenInWonderland

The outside part of the track now has a walk way on either side, complete with handrails. It looks so put of place even though they did everything they could to keep the theming. - HauntedGoyl

With tarps hanging down the sides, it's very ugly. Atleast it's painted to kinda match - derkie

My friend works for a theme park in Valencia and she said that by law they must remain 6 feet orore from a ledge of a certain height unless they have fall protection on. It does look ugly! I'm so bummed they had to out it up. The RO also mentioned something about when the bobsleds go down, they're down for 30-45 min because of lengthier ride inspections. - HauntedGoyl

The reason why they only sit guests one to one or two in the back is because it'd be too front heavy and could fall over. The handrails are so bad. Its supposedly temporary though (tarps) - swingingwake

I think the feel of the ride has somewhat been changes, but I still feel the Disneg magic - disneykimmi

I've been on that ride last week for the first time so those rails don't phase me that much but I can understand the complains. Hey at least its safer for the CM now. - Elrasiel

As CMs, our first and top priority is safety for everyone. I can now understand why they did this. - BaseballMickey_CM

@bm, yes very true but 55 years with no issues and then this cheesy style fix. It's just not Disney. I hope they make it better and the Alice attraction will be great again. - GoofyJoe

Well because I work in Fantasyland and work Alice I'm really glad it's all there. Safety should be more important than "the magic" lost - PrincessTianaCM

OSHA and the Fire Department came in to DL & DCA and made them change a bunch of things for safety. For instance the seating in Fantasmic, and the front row of the Mezzanine railing for Aladdin was too low, so Disney will have to raise it which I fear will change the view. I'm hoping they just keep that row closed, although they say they lose a lot of seating because of the row closure. - nittywitty
