So I visited DCA on a very crowded day, and on the way to my car I visited with a family from Arizona who had brought their 4 year-old to Disneyland for the first time. The parents were grim and dissappointed with their vacation because of the crowds. Here was a family who, came a distance, spent a lot of time and money to be dissappointed with their trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, which for them didn't end up so happy. I thought of all the families who were in the parks during the Spring Break time of year and I don't want to see families leaving so dissappointed! I know MW has been into doing RAK's, and although I appreciate the spirit of doing this between other MW's, I'd like to challenge the frequent visiting MW's to turn their RAK's outside the MW community during this busy time. Help make the Disney experience magical for all Disney visitors. Do something small like entertaining kids in line for exhausted parents trying desparately to make the visit special... Give out RAK's or your fastpasses or WOC tix to those people. They won't forget you and it's a true RAK for sure. Some of us are AP's and are lucky enough to visit the parks at times when crowds are small. Let's take the opportunity in these crowded times to help others enjoy it and see the magic of Disney through our eyes. Thanks for listening!

Great idea! After seeing the crowds today, I'm worried about our part time admin. asst from our work. She was there for the first time today. I tried to give her a quick run down on suggestions, maps, etc plus a MW referral before she left. But it looked brutal today! - ally

you know what you are so right. I love this post. we should have a meetup where we all bring something we dont need of disney (Kinda like the stuff we are already giving out) or hey if ya want buy In the park merchandise or a candy, and pick random families in the park and just make someones day.. or how about buying the person behind you in line a churro,dolewhip,popcorn on you. I was a CM and on one of my days off I had gone into disneyland by myself just to enjoy it without having someone pull me around to where they want to go, I was very hungry and the dork that I AM i left my wallet in my moms car and I didnt realize it till i was paying for my food. Luckily I had money stashed in a pocket. I pulled out everything I had and turns out I didnt have enough so I just said oh um thank you but I dont have enough I left my wallet and this is all i have I think i was buying a chimmmmmichanga. anyways i walked away.. next thing i KNow a couple tapped me and said excuse me and the man gave me a chimichanga and a soda...I was sooo ssuprised and just amazed at how some people are soo giving and I was just soo touched by their actions I had them give me their address they were from AZ, and I sent them a package of disney merchandise... After my Nephew chickened out, we gave away our Splash Mountain fastpasses. We found a group of two who were clearly unhappy about getting in a 90 minute line, but were sadly resigned to their fate. They were so surprised and grateful. It was such a nice feeling it made me want to gather fastpasses just to give them away! :-) - MizGMarie

Well the last time I noticed people always bring there kids heathly snacks so it's not technically candy, but it's not fruit either and it's Disney! Btw they were on sale at target buy one get one free! - akpoppins

This is true--somehow, many families have no idea that Fast Passes even exist, and even more people don't realize they're good for anytime after the return time! We could really make some vacations easier. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I agree. We have APs and can go whenever we want but when families spend hours driving and hundreds on gas and then with the park admission being so high now, its just sad knowing they didn't get what they came for. I think that it's a good idea that all is APs get fast passes and pass them onto non APs. - PrincessLeanne

MoonWillow you are so right. I never even thought of entertaining children in line for exhausted parents, that would be fun for me and helpful for the parents! The fast pass idea is good too. One question, how do we know who is who? I mean.... I see some families with lanyards from vacation companies so I would assume that those are vacationers, other than that what are some telltale signs of people on vacation so that I may look out for them? - DuffysJuju

I agree, and as you can see in some of the above posts, I think a lot of MWers do this. I met a family and the little boy was fascinated by my boys pin trading. He didn't have any pins but really wanted to trade with a CM, so I gave him 1 to trade at that time and 3 more for future trading. - OutNumberedMom

Great post! I couldn't agree more. When my wife and I are together at DLR we often get as many FPs as possible just to give away. (she doesn't ride as much as I do--I can do single rider lines) - alankeno

Ah...wouldn't this world be a better place if we all put this into practice everywhere? ;) You're right though. I've been on the end of a disappointing Disney trip and a small RAK probably would have made a huge difference. It's something I will remember next time we go!! - mejojac

I carry a bag of pins everytime i am in the parks and give them to the kids... EVERYTIME. the kids that live around me get pins and i am always doing things for others.. even when i have no money left.

Here here!! Before I had an AP someone gave me and my family fast passes to Indy because they were leaving for the day and heard us wanting to ride it but mu parents told us we couldn't because the wait was over 90 minutes. It really made our day! - disneynerd

We frequently give our "not going to be used" Fast Passes to unsuspecting guests...most of the time, it's greatly appreciated by them and makes us feel good as well. - SergZak

I'm sorry they were disappointed but they should have done some research too. We drive from Phoenix when we come but I plan ahead. I research school schedules and peak times at the park. We have special needs kids so I take everything into consideration. I know not everyone can pick when their vacation time is but you certainly can be prepared for what may lie ahead. I like your idea of spreading the magic it will certainly add some cheer to non MW visitors. - Cinderellamomma
