Hi again! We are planning our trip, unfortunately its a year away. We are going as a fairly large group (seven adults and one three year old) Im looking for suggestions on: how to save money on/during our stay places to stay for our large group My dad is taking all of us so i'd love to do something special for him and my mom while we are there any ideas? Also since it will be first time to DL for my Hubby and little girl what should I plan for them so I get those unforgetable disney momments? I also want to find a special way to tell my daughter that we are finally going... thoughts? You are all so creative I cant wait to see what you come up with! Thanks

If anyone is current or former military have them book hotel and get tix on base it is much cheaper that way. If not if anyone has AAA they give discounts too and can do the character calls to tell the 3 year old. Bring your own snacks and bottled water. Get a locker to store your stuff while there it will save you from carrying your stuff all over. Research travel dates some will be cheaper then others. Good luck the planning is my favorite part. I'd be happy to help more if you want me too. - Cinderellamomma  293.5 #955 5:18PM

A character breakfast would be fun. We did one for the first time on our most recent trip and it was great! My niece also loved meeting all the characters (and so did the afults - Dopeygirl78  138.9 #2905 5:22PM
Sorry- to finish my post the prematurely posted (lol) - the adults really enjoyed the breakfast too! :) - Dopeygirl78  138.9 #2905 5:23PM
If there is a senior in you group they get better deals then triple a does. And don't forget to have fun!! - Sasha513  286.6 #1000 6:34PM
When we told our grandkids we were taking them we got them each their favorite character plush w/ a Disney shirt on it & told them they could wear the new shirts at the park - Duffysgirl  169.6 #2413 6:42PM
Bargain with the hotels. Look online and then call with an offer. You'd be surprised at the deals you can get. - Nickelnorm  113.7 #3359 6:49PM
I got a great deal on travelocity! But it depends where u are coming from, we are flying from hawaii so it took a few weeks of research before we found the right price. We are surprising our daughter in may, gonna do the balloons in a box, wrap a bunch of Disney balloons in a box when she opens, they all float up. One will have an invitation to DL attached. Also, going to throw in a pair of Mickey ears that she can wear to the airport. - kailikea  161.2 #2550 8:01PM
I just had to chime in. Large group? 8? That's my everyday life, 6 kids and me an hubby!! Hahaha Hope you all have a lot of fun. You have lots of great suggestions above. :-) - DisneyMomof6  4.6 #20563 8:12PM
We are flying in from Canada so Im going to check out travelocity. Thank you all so much, its given me lots to think about. Cinderellamomma I probably will take you up on that offer! Thanks again everyone is so helpful and nice (this is why I LOVE MW, its so addicting...) - kateluvskev  184.4 #2192 8:40AM
Canada,eh? Have a safe and fun trip. One character breakfast during your stay is a great experience! You can do the Minnie with friends and DL but I like to go to goofys kitchen at Disneyland hotel! There's so many creative ways to surprise your 3 yr old. You can tell your girl you're going to some random place like idk the grand canyon. shes young so I'm sure it won't matter. When you arrive at the hotel (depending where you stay) set up a gift basket of Disney things, tshirts, toys, coloring books, candy and say surprise.. But I think the best way to do it is just take her to the park and boy will she be surprised! The whole family should rock Mickey ears! If she's into princesses, you can take her to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique in the park where they make her over into a Disney princess of her choice:) I'll prob post more ideas once they come to mind. I'm so excited for you! - kayrassaCM  25.7 #6441 9:07AM
To save money, pack drinks, snacks, fruit. Food can get expensive....especially when you have a young one and they need a quick fix. Oh and take advantage of the complimentary breakfast hotels offer!City Hall has first-time/celebration pins you can pick up to wear throughout the day:) CMs always acknowledge them. - kayrassaCM  25.7 #6441 9:15AM
We stay at the Tropicana hotel directly across the street from DL. We sometimes bring our own breakfast and eat before entering the park. we bring snacks and water in with us. Eat lunch in the park then about 4:00 we go back to the hotel for a little rest and then eat dinner outside the park, then head back in for the night. It really saves alot if you bring your own food/snacks and water into the park. we even brough lunch in with us once when we were there for 5 days. It worked really well. Good luck. - MikeyMouse  145.1 #2795 9:19AM
