I am booking a hotel package through the disneyland website and I am being asked for vacation insurance. Is this worth it? I am flying in from out of state with just a carry-on, staying across from the DLR, and plan on going nowhere but the DLR. The only reason I could see buying is if I want to cancel the trip, but can I get my deposit back if I cancel without the vacation insurance? Is it worth it if I'm not booking a flight, rental car, or anything like that? I'm just booking the hotel and tickets to the park.
We always book our trips thru the site like that & have never purchased the insurance or had a problem. I don't think it's necessary - DisneyBelle

Cool, thanks for the advice! I really don't think I need it, but I am not exactly sure what it is for. - Sheilamo

we booked our hotel through the Disneyland site, and then i had to call them to get the park tickets added at the special price, and i could've sworn the lady i talked to said the insurance is included automatically...maybe i just heard it wrong. - dizzycat1969

I only bought it when my dad wasn't expected to live long. He passed away 3 weeks prior to our trip, so we didn't use it. As a general we don't buy it. - ally

Many credit cards cover these types of things. Check with your card company. - GusGus

Insurance is more about weather or not something happens that causes you to cancel your trip. Just a way to not be stuck paying for a trip you can't attend. It's really up to you if you can forsee any problems possibly inferring - Zooter
