About the Wheel of Death, do you only call it that due to the swinging cars? Or are people also scared on the fixed cars? I am only bothered by the swinging cars myself. After one swinging ride, I will only go on the fixed cars now. I find them to be pretty tame.
It's not a matter of the cars moving. It's the height and just sitting there. I am not afraid of heights yet the wheel of death still freaks me out. I'll go on it if someone really wants to but I don't plan on riding it when i am there. I picture being stuck up there or it coming off and rolling away - KissDclown

That's pretty much the way I feel too Kiss. I thought it was the swinging thing but I was still pretty freaked out in my non-swinging cage too. - PrinceCorey

I've never been on either and don't plan to, the height freaks me out and being stuck and rolling off - KAA

I've never been scared of heights, but the non-swinging still really freak me out!! I don't like just hanging up there I guess. - MinnieMousewife

My son and I loved that ride when we were there last Spring Break! That's the one ride that we always talk about because it's a wee bit scary! - shelbylr28

I'm not scared of the heights or swinging but I do get freaked out a bit at the thought of falling into the water in a locked cage! - candymation

Took me a second to figure out what Wheel of Death was! Lol! What a great nickname! I have never been on and will never. - Lovemypbj

I don't mind the non-swinging cars at all. They seem like a ferris wheel. I only hate the swinging ones. But then I have never thought about falling into the water in a locked cage either. lol Maybe I'll have a new fear of them when I go next. What bothers me on the fixed ride is that it never revolves around several times like a ferris wheel. You spend your whole time riding a few feet, pausing for unloading/loading, ride a few feet, pausing, ride a few feet, pausing....I wish it revolved a few times instead.
When I ride the carousel, I admit that I sometimes think of the runaway carousel in the Hitchcock movie Strangers on a Train. Anyone else think of that? - ally

Once on the swinging cars was enough for me. I would much rather look at how pretty it is from the outside. - Tammilani

I love the wheel. I hate how long it takes to get on the darn thing! Then again I went skydiving when I turned 30 and will do it again at 40 sooooo - jerzanemama
