The ranking system is meant to reward members for actions which are beneficial to the app. Entering wait times is the most important, and therefore worth the most points. Certain point levels unlock rewards, like being able to listen to tracks on mw radio. Some people like to see their points go up, or want to hear the music, so it's motivating for them. If you don't care about those things, don't worry about it, just have fun and contribute positively and you'll find yourself pretty content. - bluefairy
