If you have an slr camera what is it? Does it advance fast enough to get action shots. My hubby said I can buy one finally. TIA for your advice. Gotta get It before the may trip to the land
Depending on model you can get 3 to 9 shots per second. - HotDiggityDogDaddy

I'm looking for one right now too. So far I've found that canon rebels work nicely, have great features, and have the most for your money. I used them in y photo classes back in high school and I have a film rebel. Nothing but greatness. Just a warning, nikon mAkes a similar model, but no live display on the screen, only through the viewfinder. And the nikon costs more. - ladylikesdisney

I have a Nikon D90, it gets about 4 frames per second. It's a very good camera but I sort of miss my Canon rebel, which was 3 fps, but was lighter and more compact. Whitchever camera you choose, don't forget that a good lens will make a big difference especially when it comes to action shots. - DisneyPhotoFan

Canon rebel xti. You need a fast lens for crystal clear action shots. Otherwise, a flash will do. I own a 50mm 1.4 lens and it does a fantastic job. It's super fast! A little expensive, but worth it. So, an SLR is important, but a Fast lens is necessary - goinghometime

If you don't want the bulk of an slr but a really good camera with a lot of good quality features, try the canon g12. A friend of my wife is a professional photographer and uses it as her other camera. We got one just before Christmas and have been very happy with it. - Oaklandish

I second that Dumbomom. It has conituous shutter which I have used for my kids' soccer & baseball/softball games. I love it. I also took a photography class and learned how to use it in manual mode - adjusting the light meter, etc for different effects. Good luck on your decision/purchase and have fun! - weaver941

We have the Cannon Rebel xti and it has the action mode that we use for the kids sports, along with a zoom
lens. It's a great camera for the price. - DesperateMousewife
