So we're planing our honeymoon to WDW the first week of August. Question is what hotel should we stay at, and should we go through Disney or an agent? We both have the premier passes so we don't need tickets.

A Disney hotel would be nice, especially the Grand Californian! Congrats ! - ally  440.3 #4 4:55PM
I've heard the Polynesian or the swan are really nice. I've stayed offsite at WDW, never again - Missshelly  690.3 #145 4:58PM
We are going for our honeymoon just before that!! Leave the 2nd. I spoke w a cast member & with the discount from your pass & all of the advantages staying at a Disney resort gives you that's your best deal!! Lots of diff hotels & prices to choose from but if your like us we will b at the parks most of time so we chose the moderate to save money but are spending our last 3 nights at animal kingdom!! - GusGus  776.2 #123 5:00PM
Sorry, I didn't see WDW. Blush. Yes, the Poly would be good, and less pricey, but very nice I the Wilderness lodge. - ally  440.3 #4 5:03PM
The swann and dolphin hotel is a very nice hotel but kind of expensive for my tastes. My favorite hotel in WDW is the All-Star movies. It is the only hotel (to my knowledge) that has major Disney themes. I have a brother who was a cm for WDW for 2 years, so if you have any questions you can email me and I can ask him. - EnchantedRose  5.6 #9537 5:07PM
Port Orleans riverside. Best resort by far. And get the "magic wishes" add ons. Those things will come in wicked handy. - sdhmdoc  5.4 #9907 5:12PM
Yes, i stayed at PO Riverside last May and we loved it. Very quiet, nice lounge, good food courts. - ally  440.3 #4 5:13PM
Sdhmdoc...what are "magic wishes" & if you have passes so don't need tickets how do u add them? - GusGus  776.2 #123 5:18PM
The Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge looks like a very nice place to stay. - likwitfaded  0.1 #71565 5:23PM
Ya what are "magic wishes"? - Barrel925  276.7 #756 6:20PM
I'll post a pic of the Riverside room. - ally  440.3 #4 6:22PM
The grand floridian is beautiful. There is an adult only restaurant. You should definitely stay on disney property to get the magic hours. AAA has good discounts. Otherwise just book online. - Disneyaddict  200.3 #1623 7:15PM
Animal Kingdom Lodge. Beautiful, but expensive. You have the view of animals from your porch. Amazing. - goinghometime  24.3 #4706 7:36PM
The all star and pop century resorts are not where I would want to stay for my honeymoon. If you just want a clean small room they are ok but far from romantic. Lots of large tour groups stay here so it gets loud. IMO I agree and think the animal kingdom lodge or poly are great hotels but $$ go for the Port Orleans resort. Love it there - UppityEmpress  783.8 #2 7:39PM
I'd recommend WL. Very homey, cozy, yet romantic setting (I'm a little biased as that's where we stayed when we got engaged!) - giddy4disney  145.2 #2360 8:47PM
I stayed at the carribean beach resort and it was quit and relaxing with nice rooms and a beach look alike that had hamoks, overall it was great! Hope that helps! :) - brohymmdave  3.7 #15665 8:53PM
I stayed at the carribean beach for my honeymoon in 2000. I loved it! The only issue I had was the hotel is the last stop on the bus route and sometimes I felt like we were waiting for the bus for tooo long. That being said I would stay again - Lifeguardmom  292.5 #657 8:58PM
