It's called an atmospheric river. It's what's been going on in Australia. It's not like a fake end of the world type storm just a mega one. It wouldn't rain for 4 months more along the line of 9 days. Using the numbers of the recent storms and flooding in Australia they determined it would devastate though. - CxD_CM

I hope my roof is completed by then. I'll have to make sure I fertilize my lawn before the storm. My cactus needs water. - MikeyMouse

It's a good thing I live in the foothills. No flooding here. Only have to worry about trees falling on my house from the wind and rain. - Pinup Princess

I've been told that el Nino is back again but I am really hoping that is not the case. I love sunshine. El Nino was great back in my snowboarding days but I'm ready for spring and summer right now - KissDclown

@disneycrazy- well, the insurance agent in me would say at least a tree falling on your house is covered by your home insurance policy. Flood is excluded unless you buy the seperate policy for it. - TickledTink

Hey COOPBALLS, maybe us here in AZ could take a boat ride to Disney! - AzDisDad

This part in an article is what scares me "In an interview with the New York Times, Marcia K. McNutt, the director of the geological survey, said that 150 years ago, during a storm that lasted 45 days in the winter of 1861-62, so much rain fell that a stretch of the Central Valley 300 miles long and 20 miles wide was flooded, from north of Sacramento south to Bakersfield, near the eastern desert." Yeah. I live in Fresno. I don't wanna become a REAL mermaid lol - SPandEvLover

Has anyone heard the rumor that the government stepped in during the making of the movie 2012 and told them they has to add funny lines to it because it's something that could happen, and they didn't want people to be too scared - ladylikesdisney
921.5 #95 12:09PM
I heard they told orson Welles the same thing about aliens. - bluefairy
627.1 #174 12:27PM
haha if the government told them that, then they're crazy. Like a hundred scientists wrote an article about why the things in that movie could never happen, and especially not on that scale. - ThatHondaGuy
