Hey GoofyJoe, I never sell my Disney pictures, because of the legal issues that it can cause. I had a talk with Disney legal a while back. - CJ

Alright guys and gals, I'm going to be taking the site down to fix some things, so if you haven't check out the images, check them out now before they're gone. My goal is to start using this site to post the images that I take at all of the meetups so that people can download high resolution images. Please note that some images that I share on the site (such as the ones you see on the site now) will not have a high resolution download available. - CJ

@CJ, what legal issues? you took the picture, you own the rights. just make sure you copy right it right away. If your picture are posted on line you may lose the copy right if you dont register it. If you copy righter it its yours and noone has the right to use without your permission. I deal with this a lot, they may of just trying to scare you... Many famous photographers have and sold Disneyland photos. - GoofyJoe

@GoofyJoe, technically you're right about the ownership about the images if I submit them for copyright. However, what most people don't realize is that Disneyland is private property and you must have Disney's permission in order to take commercial photos on their property. The thing about the famous photographers, well, they're famous. Disney isn't going to shoot themselves in the foot by going after them. I'm not so sure that they'd look the other way when it comes to non-famous photographers. At the end of the day, Disney has more money than I do to fight legal battles and no matter how much money I could make off of the prints, it wouldn't be worth the potential risk. Not to mention, since it is private property, they could ask that I never return to the park with a camera or even worse, never return to the park. If you guys don't believe me, just pick up the phone and contact Disney's legal department. You'll quickly realize that dealing with the most grumpy cast member you can find on the most crowded day at the park is more pleasant than dealing with Disney's aggressive legal team. - CJ

Thx p&c he actually already is that per admin;) but the vote is always appreciated :)
@goofyjoe the the issue besides it being private property is that the legal team also pointed out the everything in Disney is copyright, TM and registered Disney. So the things you are shooting are already considered art copyrighted by Disney. - Sassie_Cass

So how that works is that like CJ said, you have to have permission to take wedding engagement portrait work on their property. ie. Just like you need a permit to shoot in certain cities or locations etc. But also if the main subject of your shot is the structure like the castle which is copywrited and TM then again they got you covered and can persue you legally. - Sassie_Cass

But if like we do, you shoot "not for resale images" and they are for "personal use" not a commercially sold product then we are fine. Yes many photogs can and do have shots at Disney but they either worked for Disney or got permits to shoot on location. Sorry for the rant but I hate to see photogs not knowingly do illegal stuff. Plus I hate when people call themselves professionals but don't do thier homework. Seriously it is nothing new. People do all kinds of illegal things in this world and it slips through the cracks. We are the type of people who try to follow the rules. Sorry we are just honest people like that. - Sassie_Cass

As long as it is personal not comical use there is no issue - Sassie_Cass

If there is no comical use I see no use for it at all. Boo. - HotDiggityDogDaddy

I shoot for personal use and anything sold is for personal use, I am shoot several commercial used photographs for ads but did not like the way they treat people or the models so I will never do it again. I have many photos in travel brochures not Disney related. - GoofyJoe

P&C, personal photos can be used for personal use without restriction. Photos that you buy the rights to can only be used within the terms outlined in the contract that you agreed to when you purchased them. - CJ
