We are coming in March for 6 days. We haven't watched WOC yet. Has anyone had the picnic meal? How was the food and do you really get a good spot? Do you still have yo spend a long time to keep your spot. I really need some help to choose.

We did the picnic lunch in December. I had the fried chicken and it was great, and yes, you have to get there early to get a good spot no matter how you get your WOC tickets (fastpass, picnic, or reserved). Unless you're tall of course! I'm 5'2" so being on the rail is pretty imprortant otherwise I end up with a 6 footer in front of me! - dLittleMermaid

We did the picnic in Oct and were very disappointed. It's a cold meal and the portions are small. I think for the money we should have done the sit down meal at the Tratorria or Ariel's Grotto. Definitely be ready to get in line early, Espeially if you have kids, otherwise they won't be able to see anything. We just did fastpasses the second time we saw it and were much happier having not spent the $ on the meals and just waiting in line early. - Ladystrac

Havent done the picnic. We like hot food. We did ariels grotto dinner show. The food was excellent. For 4 people it was $40-$50 more than the picnic. Totslly worth it. Keep an eye out. I will post a pic of our view - Disneyaddict

We went in September and decided to eat at Ariel's Grotto & have to say it was completely worth the money & the reserved seating was right in the middle! It was a wonderful experience all around for us. Hope this is helpful information :-) - VikkiMouse

The food was ok. They served the fried chicken cold, but on a brighter note we got the yellow section. We were front and center. Got a little wet, but we got to see everything plus got it on video and got great pics. - Jaisen702

I was really happy with the picnic meal. I did the chicken and it was tasty. We were assigned the blue section but still had to get there early to get a good spot - MTLott

Also did the dinner meal at Tratorria. Super easy and little waiting. Ate dinner, had short wait in a small line, then we were escorted right up to the front of the viewing area (actually up just a bit from the splash zone.) Great view, no waiting, no worries. - DieUmEye

I had the misfortune of the Wine Country Italian picnic lunch. It was 6 pieces of greasy salami, a couple wedges of bad cheese and some cheap crackers. WAY overpriced for what we got. Now that I hear that Ariels grotto is so nice, I really feel jipped. The good news is that is that was the only bad experience in 7 days - CAWA

We also did the picnic meal and it was in my opinion great for the price.We had the All American but all the food is served cold, so if your expecting some hot chicken better eat at DL. We were in a great section and avoided having to wait in line to receive a fastpass. We did get there about 45 min before the show started because that was what was recommended by the CM's. Worth the $$. - DisneyDiva
