Was about to book Grand Californian Hotel for May but have heard a lot of complaints about theme park view. I heard many of the rooms are tree view instead of theme park. Is it true?
The view is only 15% of the experience staying at the Grand. - HotDiggityDogDaddy

The first time we stayed there we had DTD view and it was super noisy so trees would have been better! - RocklinMousewife

True lots of trees but if you get hi enough you can see woc from certain rooms..or so I have been told. I have stayed several times and never spent enough time to notice the views. The best thing about gch is location. - dcaprio

i think paradise pier is better for park view since it's higher up and, true, no trees in the way. - paigito

It's amazing what can be done if you ask. My husband and I went once and our view was trees, an access road and the backside of Soarin'. We called the front desk and they changed our room for us. We got a really nice park view and were able to see part of World of color. I prefer the DTD view, and the sliding door blocks out a lot of the noise. We've had rooms right over the entrance to DTD too - CaliCanuck
