#retroday. My mom, brother and me in 1957, waiting for the train, with our new squeaky-bill Donald hats. My mom went home to be with the Lord on July 11. She loved Disneyland, and made sure we always got 2 trips there each summer.
#retroday...Here's me with a couple of Splash Mountains residents in July of '89. I was 7 at the time. This trip I went with my best friend Jill her mom and my mom. I haven't seen these pics probably since '89. Brought back lots of good memories, just even looking through pictures books seeing old pics. Thanks for having days like this MW!!
#retroday I totally forgot I had this picture. Upon finding it I found it bitter sweet and very sad. This was probably the last time I ever hung out with my mom at DL before she got sick. Have I would of known I would have tried to cherish this moment better. This is the only pic I have of her that day, and she's smiling :). Oh and this is Teagan at 11 months old I forgot we had taken her before h More...
#RetroDay some of my favorites (going clockwise from the left:) abandoned baby in front of the castle; the head hancho, my mom, and i; me in toontown jail; me peeking into goofys garden?; and me on the bench, with my uncle and dad talking in the background
#Retroday Final one unless I manage to dig more out late tonight. Dad, my 2 brothers, my cousin and I on the Mark Twain in the mid 90s. Love that I'm smacking my older bro. Rare that dad isn't the one behind the lens.
#RetroDay ~ June 1995 ~ I was 16 and just graduated HS. Top left, my first Hatter hat @ DL (no idea why I thought clown print was cool); Top right, Hangin' w/ Hook (notice he's got hold of my hair); Bottom left, Dancing w/ The Goof on Main St; Bottom right, who remembers the giant Hatter & White Rabbit in Fantasyland??? :o)
#RetroDay Here's some pictures from my first trip to Disneyland in '96. My parents in the top left. Then my Grandparents top middle with me by ROA. Then I guess top left is the first picture, with a character, that I didn't end up crying haha. My Mom even saved my first ever ticket! They're the ones that jump started my love for Disney!
A personal favorite is the beautifully hand crafted music box
A fun video from 2013, the story behind the music box with Clopin, Figaro and the even watch the Tangled Tower being put into the Fantasy Faire:
Of course, no trip to the Fantasy Faire would be complete without a visit to the Royal Hall. Loved this artist rendition, that's just how my girls are when they enter the Hall. ::sigh::
Took this next part directly from Disney Parks Blog:
“After walking into our main entrance, you will first go through a garden-like setting before entering the reception hall,” said Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director of Fantasy Faire for Walt Disney Imagineering. “Once inside the Royal Hall, guests will discover a beautiful gothic interior with nice wallpaper, wall cresting, wood finishes and chandeliers.”
Passing through a series of spaces, including the Grand Hall, you’ll have the opportunity to meet as many as three Disney princesses, from classic stories such as “Cinderella” and “Sleeping Beauty.”
Dont forget to grab a sweet treat from Maurice's Treats! At the time, (isn't there more now?) the adorable cart featured 3 “Twists” and a new signature beverage: Boysen Apple Freeze.
In a tribute to the historic Carnation Plaza Gardens, a shield over the archway leading from Fantasy Faire to Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland displays the letters “CPG.”
