CAST MEMBER APPRECIATION Sticker Night on Tuesday! This is way overdue. Let\'s celebrate all of the great CMs past and present who have made a difference in our lives through their service--without them Disneyland wouldn\'t be what it is today. Let\'s celebrate them with stories of Cast Member awesomeness. We will also be releasing our PREMIUM Animated SPLASH MOUNTAIN Sticker that you will NOT want to miss! As usual, I want to hear your requests! Learn more about MouseWait Stickers on our blog. You can now Gift and Trade Stickers via our new MouseWait Messenger in the new MouseWait Platinum app. See what\'s new in Platinum here. Go to the MW Store on the web, mobile, or you can also access the store through our native MW Store tab in the iOS & Android app.  We host MouseWait Sticker Nights in Downtown Disney every Tuesday 8pm at La Brea Bakery. Participate from anywhere in the world via the Lounge Virtual Pre-Party with Churro at 8pm, Sticker release at 9pm, and then meetup afterwards to Gift and Trade in the VOYAGEERS Realm. Did you know that you can gift Credits to other MouseWaiters? You can also Gift Stickers. MouseWait Credits are the ideal gift for all of your MouseWait friends. NEW BRAINTREE CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS FOR CREDITS: When you go to the Buy Credits page in the Lounge, you will see a new option through Braintree (a PayPal company), where you can enter your credit card and quickly buy Credits. This is a good option for those who have problems with Credits being added to their account through PayPal. If you are planning to use this new option, please do it early, so we can get the Credits into your account in case of any problems. Thanks! You can buy Credits from inside the iPhone AND Disneyland Android app (latest version 7.2.20). Press on the MW Store tab from the left slideout bar and press on the Recharge Credits tab. You can find discounted iTunes and Google Play cards at Target (with the Red Card), and through online specials--this will get you a discount on anything you purchase through the App Store or Google Play (including MouseWait Credits). Follow this Twitter account to get updated news on iTunes Card Deals. You can also purchase Credits from the TRIVILATOR app, GOAT EFFECT, and you can still get them from the MW Store links (however the old links aren\'t working well on Android).  If you have a problem with your purchase, send us an email and we will get the Credits added to your account as soon as possible. Thanks again to those who purchase Credits--check out the Credits Hall of Fame here. When you purchase Credits, you help us make MouseWait better! Credits work in ALL of our apps and they follow your MouseWait account wherever you go!Stickers released on Tues night Sticker Night are EXTREMELY limited. Other Stickers (Rack Open Edition) that appear during the week are also limited, but they are easier to get (and less expensive) than our premier Tuesday releases. We have THREE real-time Lands available (VOYAGEERS Realm links are at the top of the Lounge). You can easily trade and gift Stickers and Pins in these Lands, making them a great place to hang out on Sticker nights, or any time!

Good morning! This day in Disneyland history, May 4th, 1977: Space Mountain opened in Disneyland.  Not to be confused with the official dedication and grand opening ceremony which happened a few weeks later on May 27th, 1977.

The Disneyland Space mountain is the 2nd Space Mountain to be built in the world, the 1st being the one in WDW which opened in 1975. The idea for Anaheim's attraction originated in the mid 1960s, during Walt Disney's lifetime, as a way to energize the aging Tomorrowland. The project was shelved until the success of Space Mountain in Florida. Disneyland’s Space Mountain was designed by Bill Watkins and is different from the WDW design because of space limitations Disneylands Space Mountain is only about 2/3 the size of the one in Florida.

Space mountain Disneyland is 118, feet tall and 200 feet wide. The mountain is at the center of a 96,460-square-foot complex then containing the 670-seat Space Place restaurant, an amphitheater- the 1,100-seat Space Stage and the arcade “
Starcade”.  It took $20 million (some $3 million more then Disney spent to build the entire amusement park in 1955) and several refinements in computer technology to put the attraction where Disney wanted it in Tomorrowland.

According to Disneyland.disney.go.com: “Mercury 9 and Gemini 5 astronaut Gordon Cooper joined the Space Mountain creative team as a consultant. He wanted to make sure that the attraction incorporated information gleaned during NASA’s early space missions and that the overall experience give Guests a realistic feeling of actual space flight.
Thanks in part to Gordon Cooper’s valuable input, Space Mountain has remained a favorite attraction since its interstellar debut 38 years ago.”
