Disneyland Talk

This Land is for Disney talk only
846.9 #110 DL Qual #74 7-27-12 5:15PM
Listening to news radio and they reported one of the Anaheim protests tomorrow is scheduled for noon "in front of Disneyland". I don't know exactly where that is or what it will mean for guests, just wanted to spread the word.
Interfering with family vacations is not a great way to get their point across. Many of these families have never been to Disneyland, and others have saved and waited for years for a chance to visit. Protesting something that has nothing to do with Disney or its companies at Disneyland is terrible and will not earn them sympathy. I hope they rethink their strategies. - ScooterMike  1959.8 #37 7-27-12 5:40PM Like(12)  Reply
Well said and thank you! We work hard to bring our kids once a year and this worries me. - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  33.8 #4307 7-27-12 5:42PM
i agree, scooter! there is a time and place for everything and that is neither the time nor the place. i hope they get shut down before they even start. - Prettynpink1023  276.4 #780 7-27-12 5:44PM
i too will disagree. while i acknowledge families coming to disneyland, protests are being done because an unarmed man was killed. and the community that lives in the city feels they are being targeted. though the protests did go crazy the other day, it doesn't mean they will this weekend. - Radius  502.3 #239 7-27-12 5:55PM
They had a protest with heavy media coverage at Anaheim City Hall. People noticed. I am 100% for the right of people to protest. I am against using it as an excuse to ruin people's vacations who have nothing to do with what happened. - ScooterMike  1959.8 #37 7-27-12 5:56PM
I agree 100%. Well said. - LaneSparrow316  846.9 #110 7-27-12 5:57PM
The argument that people should protest things in front of places that will get them attention means I should protest for Animal Rights in front of Disneyland instead of an animal shelter with shoddy practices. That doesn't make sense to me. - LaneSparrow316  846.9 #110 7-27-12 6:02PM
I respectfully disagree. Anaheim is a government-run city, Disneyland is a private business. However I'm with you on the peaceful front. Hope it stays safe. - LaneSparrow316  846.9 #110 7-27-12 6:19PM
this is a deep debate that is definitely not appropriate for MW. Praying for peace. - Radius  502.3 #239 7-27-12 6:24PM
You're absolutely right. Disneyland also has excellent security. I have a positive feeling it will be ok. - LaneSparrow316  846.9 #110 7-27-12 6:27PM

unfortunately, looks like. tomorrow and Sunday from 12pm-4pm. I still haven't figured out why Disneyland has to be dragged into this!? - Prettynpink1023  276.4 #780 7-27-12 5:31PM Like  Reply
because anaheim city will now have to take it seriously. disneyland is anaheim's golden ticket. if the protest is done there, anaheim will be forced to do something. - Radius  502.3 #239 7-27-12 5:39PM
High profile and lots of publicity. - LaPearleNoir  621.1 #180 7-27-12 5:41PM
As a mother of two, this does not sit right. Even if it is a so called "peaceful protest" to go where there are a lot of children really scares me cause you never know what could happen. I hope nothing happens and it's shut down before anything. - adventurerEnDisneylandia {AED}  291.0 #681 7-27-12 6:28PM
What's the protest for? - _BELLE_  217.6 #1423 7-27-12 5:33PM Like  Reply

lapearlenoir, i heard the same thing. i googled it after lane's post and found a website that has the info posted. ..apparently other cities are doing it in solidarity. - Prettynpink1023  276.4 #780 7-27-12 5:36PM
